Assam Bengal Navigation
Assam Bengal Navigation is a family-run Indo-British joint venture. Established in 2002 by Andrew and Grania Brock and Ashish and Jahnabi Phookan, the Indo-British joint venture combines expertise in responsible tourism, experience in global markets, and a deep knowledge of the East Indies. In 2003, ABN pioneered long-distance river cruises in India with unique cruises on the Brahmaputra River in Assam. Later, in 2007, it was also the first to organize cruises on the Hooghly River (Lower Ganges) between Calcutta and Farakka. In 2004-05, it was honored with the Indian National Tourism Award for Innovation for this pioneering venture. After two decades and with four cruise ships, ABN is the most experienced operator on the largest Himalayan rivers in India.
