Description

The barge Belmond Alouette was built in Holland in 1908. In 1986, the ship was converted into a riverboat and then refurbished in 2008. The ship offers canal cruises in Provence (southern France), with itineraries along the Canal du Midi.
It has a length of 31 meters and a width of 5 meters, only two cabins are available on board, both can be set up with 2 single beds or 1 double. Cabin amenities include flat-screen satellite TV, DVD player, safe, and hair dryer. Public spaces aboard Belmond Alouette include a solarium with sun loungers and a salon (lounge and bar). The crew of 4 consists of a chef, tour guide, hostess, and captain.

Absolutely outstanding in every aspect

This was our first experience with Belmond and we were extremely satisfied. The cabins are spacious with luxury amenities, the food is delicious, and at every meal there is a pairing of local wines and cheeses. The guides are exceptional, friendly, and well-prepared, as well as all the onboard staff. Furthermore, the itinerary was very beautiful, scenic, and fascinating, especially the navigation through historic locks.

Une croisière relaxante avec Belmond à bord de l'Alouette. Le navire est très intime, élégant et équipé de tout le confort. Observer le panorama pendant la navigation a été ma partie préférée. Surtout le solarium avec des transats, des parasols et des tables offrait la possibilité de passer du temps à l'extérieur et de profiter d'une vue unique. Le service a été excellent et les repas présentaient des menus riches avec des plats de grande qualité.
