The one that currently sails for the recent brand Celestyal Cruises, was launched in 1980 as a liner ship under the name Viking Saga. In 1986 it was renamed Sally Albatros and transformed into a cruise ship. She suffered several accidents in 1990 and 1994, and was both completely rebuilt. She sailed for Norwegian Cruise Line as MS Leeward, then moved on to Star Cruises (Superstar Taurus) and Silja Line (Silja Opera) and finally renamed MS Opera before joining the fleet of Louis Cruises and then Celestyal Cruises.
Celestyal Crystal is a small ship that seeks to interpret Celestyal's philosophy of identifying passengers in a typical Greek environment, from entertainment to gastonomy, traveling on short routes mostly between Greece and the Aegean islands.
