Silver Ray protagonist of the Mediterranean summer
In 2024, Silversea is set to welcome a new flagship into its fold: the Silver Ray. Currently under the final stages of construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, this latest jewel in the luxury brand’s crown will be a true haven of luxury with an environmental conscience.
Not just exclusive suites, top-tier cuisine, and five-star service, but also an environmental focus. The Silver Ray will be Silversea’s second ship to feature hybrid LNG + electric propulsion, offering Green cruises in the Mediterranean for up to 10 days from major ports including Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and Venice during its inaugural season.
Like its sister ship, the Silver Nova, which debuted in the spring of 2023, the Silver Ray will present an asymmetrical and horizontal layout with decks dedicated solely to cabins and others to public areas, featuring large open spaces that connect guests with the sea, further elevating the already exclusive cruising experience.
Spanning 13 categories, the suites on the Silver Ray will cater to even the most demanding guests. All featuring sea views and a personal butler, they start from a minimum size of 33 square meters. Among these, the most grandiose and exclusive are the two Otium Suites, located at the ship’s stern on decks 6 and 7, offering spectacular 270° panoramic views, a separate bedroom, living, and dining area, and a large balcony over 40 square meters.
Another highlight of cruising with Silversea is the high-level cuisine. Onboard the Silver Ray, guests will find eight dining options, including the S.A.L.T. Kitchen with a menu inspired by both the itinerary at large and the day’s destination, the elegant Silver Note for dinner in an intimate setting with live music, the international Atlantide, the casual The Grill and Spaccanapoli pizzeria within the scenic Marquee, the Italian La Terrazza, the Kaesiki sushi bar, and the sophisticated French restaurant La Dame.
The final noteworthy aspect of Silversea’s offering is the luxury All-Inclusive package, which covers not just the cruise fare but also beverages including various fine wines and champagnes, service charges, Wi-Fi connection, all dining venues – except for Kaesiki in the evening and La Dame – and excursions.
The maiden voyage of the Silver Ray is scheduled for June 15, 2024, with a positioning journey from Lisbon to Barcelona, stopping throughout the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands.
