Aqua Expeditions: Chefs onboard new itineraries.


Aqua Expeditions presents new features for the season: exclusive departures onboard Aqua Blu and Aqua Nera with guests and chefs onboard.

The soul of a region is captured not only in its landscapes and rivers, but also in its cuisine.

In the nutmeg and pandanus-infused dishes of Aqua Blu, we find stories of ancient spice routes across Indonesia’s islands, over which wars were fought and kingdoms rose and fell. On the other side of the world, in the elegant dining rooms of Aqua Nera, we hear tales of the Amazon rainforest, blessed with all the biodiversity the tropics have to offer. Over shrimp cocktails and ceviches with paiche fish, we learn more and more about the incredible destinations we sail to.

In 2023, we are excited to bring back our Chef-Hosted Departures to Eastern Indonesia and the Peruvian Amazon. From September 9-16, award-winning chef Benjamin Cross will personally deliver his curated Aqua Blu menu as the yacht sails through Komodo National Park. Guests can expect an extraordinary culinary journey that reveals deep and hidden facets of Eastern Indonesia.

Aqua Nera will welcome celebrity chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino twice in 2023: the first on a four-night cruise beginning May 23 and the next on October 10. Chef Schiaffino is the mastermind behind two of Latin America’s most acclaimed restaurants and has worked with Aqua Expeditions as a consulting chef since 2007. Onboard Aqua Nera, he presents a rainforest experience inspired by authentic regional flavors.

On these exclusive departures, guests will have the unique opportunity to participate in cooking classes and customized market tours to learn more about local ingredients and preparations.
