Cunard: A New Series of Menus by Michel Roux
Cunard, the luxury British cruise line, has announced that chef Michel Roux will return to Norway in 2025 for a new exclusive series of menu residencies titled “Le Gavroche at Sea”.
The two-Michelin-starred chef has been selected to oversee four Le Gavroche menu residencies on four exciting fjord voyages next year, two aboard the new ship Queen Anne and two on the flagship Queen Mary 2 between April and August.
Onboard the world’s only ocean liner, Queen Mary 2, both the outbound and return voyages will feature the first five-night “Le Gavroche at The Verandah” experience in the fjords on April 6, 2025. Guests will be delighted with a five-course tasting menu focused on the flavors of the sea, using the finest ingredients and created by one of the world’s most decorated chefs.
Michel Roux will also host an exceptional menu residency aboard the Queen Anne, “Le Gavroche at Sir Samuels“, for its fjord voyage on May 11, where guests will find a stunning array of seafood specialties and high-quality culinary classics crafted by Michel. On August 15, the chef will return to the Queen Mary 2 for another incredible offering at The Verandah, before completing his Le Gavroche menu onboard the Queen Anne from August 31.
Reservations for “Le Gavroche at Sea” will involve an additional charge for guests, as the dining room can accommodate up to 60 diners at The Verandah and up to 50 diners at Sir Samuels each evening.
Michel Roux stated, “It’s always a privilege to bring the essence of Le Gavroche to life, and I’m thrilled to collaborate with Cunard for a second series of offerings next year. This project is incredibly rewarding, allowing me to create exclusive menus that capture the spirit of adventure and the art of refined yet accessible dining. I’m immensely excited to return onboard and showcase the beauty of Norwegian seafood to Cunard’s guests“.
In addition to preparing the new menu residencies, chef Michel will launch another high-level seafood concept: oysters at The Champagne Bar (Queen Mary 2) and oysters at Carinthia Lounge (Queen Anne). Each evening, depending on the respective itineraries, exquisite Norwegian seafood will be served without the need for reservations.
“We are thrilled to continue with our successful Le Gavroche at Sea menu residencies. Our guests expect exceptional experiences, and having one of the world’s most celebrated chefs onboard to create special menus and host exclusive events is truly special“, said Katie McAlister, President of Cunard.
Throughout each voyage, there will be live cooking demonstrations by chef Michel at the Royal Court Theatre, as well as guest entertainment with stories from his illustrious career spanning over 40 years in the hospitality industry. Finally, he will be available to sign copies of his book.
