L’Atelier Bistrot: a taste of France on Msc Cruises

L’Atelier Bistrot is an unmissable moment to partake in French delicacies on board the Msc Cruises fleet. From a simple and tasty aperitif to a complete delicious dinner, it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating French bistro atmosphere.

Present in various forms, both on the ships in the Meraviglia Plus class as well as on the Msc Seaview, L’Atelier Bistrot is the French cuisine offering among the specialty restaurants of the Msc Cruises fleet. On the Msc Grandiosa, Msc Bellissima, and Msc Virtuosa it is located in the Galleria, with welcoming tables along the boardwalk where you can enjoy an aperitif and a welcoming interior area where you will be completely enveloped in the Parisian bistro atmosphere. Instead, on the Msc Seaview, it is located on deck 8 on the third Atrium level.

Small paintings, characteristic objects, wooden chairs and tiny tables set the atmosphere of this local that is both welcoming and lively. An elegant and nicely maintained feeling, where you can spend a pleasant evening or grab a quick aperitif with a series of tasty treats accompanied by good music.

During the days when the ship is at sea, L’Atelier Bistrot is open not only at dinner but for lunch as well, with a lighter menu and delicious dishes including eggs, waffles and croissants. Even the wine selection is in keeping with the French theme, with wines served by the bottle or glass.

L’Atelier Bistrot menu includes traditional French cuisine dishes with some alternatives of a more international flare as well as vegetarian offerings. Among the starter specialties are: French onion soup, foie gras pate, and Burgundy snails. From the main dishes it will be difficult to decide between the pan-fried sole fish, the veal liver, the beef tartare or the baked lobster… Of course, to conclude your dinner, you will need to try either the caramelized apple pie or the lemon cream pie with citrus jam. Also noteworthy are the excellent French liqueurs to pair with your dessert.

The experience at L’Atelier Bistrot is included in the specialty restaurant package or as a gift for the Diamond level members of the Voyager’s Club. There is also a tasting menu available which costs 23 Euro (2020) which includes a special selection of a starter, a main dish with a side dish and dessert.

Whether you are looking to enjoy an aperitif with others or a relaxing dinner surrounded by the French atmosphere, L’Atelier Bistrot is a specialty restaurant you won’t want to miss when you are on board a ship in the Msc Cruises fleet.
