Swan Hellenic presents Maris Dining Experience

Swan Hellenic has announced its collaboration with JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs to create Maris, a completely new experience of gastronomic discovery at sea, to be enjoyed with world-renowned chefs.

Maris will bring aboard a series of exclusive cruises on the elegant design ships SH Vega and SH Diana, a JRE protagonist that will take guests on a parallel journey of discovery through the opportunity to explore the celebrated culinary creativity that has led to their fame, driven by a passion for tradition, sustainability and quality local ingredients.

Each evening, the chef will offer a different and surprising signature dish, in a crescendo that culminates in an extraordinary gala dinner created to showcase his creativity and skill; he will also organize a cooking show that will reveal some of the secrets of his art, and lead gastronomic excursions ashore to discover local culinary traditions and specialties.

Maris combines in-depth lectures onboard with shore excursions where guests can explore and taste local traditions and cultures related to hunting and fishing, agriculture and gastronomy, all in the company of world-renowned chefs and benefit from their expert perspective. It is this extraordinary combination that makes Maris a new and irresistible experience in fine dining cruise gastronomy.

The star chefs of the JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs who have signed up for the first Maris Sailing Series are, in order of sailing: Sabina Repovž from Slovenia, together with her husband Grega, awarded Best Sommelier Slovenia 2021 by Gault & Millau; Dutch Michelin Star Edwin Soumang; German Michael Ammon, also Michelin Star, will be aboard SH Diana; German Andreas Hillejan, Michelin Star; Italian Manfred Kofler; Manu Núñez from Spain and Arjan Kuipers from the Netherlands; Tomaž Bratovž from Slovenia, whose restaurant is ranked first in his country in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and Carles Ramon from Spain will be aboard SH Vega and finally Daniel Lehmann from Switzerland; Clément Bidard from France, Michelin Star for 9 years; Borja Marrero from Spain, Michelin Green Star in 2023 and Luca Marchini from Italy, also Michelin Star will be aboard SH Diana.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Swan Hellenic”, said Daniel Lehmann, President of JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs. “This is a unique opportunity for us to bring our international culinary experience to the most discerning connoisseurs on extraordinary journeys around the world”.

Andrea Zito, CEO of Swan Hellenic, commented: “Swan Hellenic and JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs are united by an uncompromising drive to share exceptional experiences. We are both excited to see how our Maris cruises will take Swan Hellenic guests into new territory of gastronomic and cultural discovery. We are confident that Maris will exceed all expectations and look forward to hearing the reactions of our guests.”

Chef-sommelier couple Sabina and Grega Repovž kicked off the Maris series on April 15 when they boarded Swan Hellenic‘s newest and largest ship, SH Diana, for the cultural expedition cruise Mysteries of Carthage and the Moors.

But the official launch will be celebrated with a sumptuous gala dinner onboard the SH Diana as part of the christening ceremony in Amsterdam on Thursday, May 4. For this occasion, Edwin Soumang, Daniel Canzian and Michael Ammon, three chefs from JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs, will present the extraordinary creative diversity of Maris gastronomy.
