GPH: A Significant Support to the Valencia Community

Global Ports Holding Ltd (GPH) has announced a donation of €250,000 to support emergency response and reconstruction efforts in the province of Valencia, which was severely impacted by recent floods.

This catastrophic event, one of the most severe flooding incidents in Spain in recent decades, has resulted in over 300 fatalities, with many still missing. In response to the disaster, the Spanish government mobilized around 2,000 soldiers from the Military Emergency Unit, in addition to 2,500 members of the Civil Guard and 1,800 national police officers, who collectively rescued over 4,500 people from the most affected areas. Thousands of volunteers also joined in, delivering essential supplies and participating in widespread cleanup efforts across the region.

GPH, which has always shown strong commitment to local communities, has expressed deep sympathy for the victims and affected communities, offering condolences to the families and individuals facing unimaginable losses. The company has decided to donate €250,000 directly to the Valencian regional government. This contribution will be used to support search and rescue operations, as well as facilitate the reconstruction of the damaged areas. GPH has also ensured that its support is directed and focused, aiming to meet the urgent needs of the maritime community and the most affected local populations.

Javier Rodriguez Sanchez, Regional Director of GPH for the West Med & Asia, stated that GPH’s thoughts are with all those affected by the tragedy, emphasizing the company’s commitment to standing by communities during times of crisis. He also expressed gratitude to the rescue teams, volunteers, and local authorities for their tireless efforts in helping the region. GPH has also urged its port network to continue supporting the recovery efforts in Valencia.

The donation from Global Ports Holding Ltd represents a clear sign of social responsibility and solidarity during a time of grave emergency. Through this gesture, GPH not only supports rescue and reconstruction operations but also reaffirms its constant commitment to local communities. With its global network of ports, the company is ready to respond to urgent needs and contribute to the region’s recovery, ensuring that support continues even after the immediate crisis. In such difficult times, collaboration and mutual support are essential to face the challenges ahead and look to the future with hope.
