Cruise Industry: The Cruise Guide Awards 2024
On September 24, 2024, the crème de la crème of the cruise industry gathered in the Opernloft at the Old Ferry Terminal in Hamburg for the presentation of the Cruise Guide Awards 2024.
A top-class jury of 18 industry experts selected the winners from 32 nominated ships. Outstanding achievements were honored with an award in eight categories. In addition, readers from the Hamburger Abendblatt Group voted for their dream ship and thus determined the “audience winner”, who was awarded the readers’ choice prize.

– Mein Schiff 7 (TUI Cruises): Best sports/wellness offer
– Europa (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises): Best Gastronomy
– AIDAprima (AIDA Cruises): Highest level of family friendliness
– Silver Nova (Silversea Cruises): Best service/comfort
– Hanseatic Spirit (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises): Best Routing
– Havila Pollux (Havila Voyages): Sustainability
– Viva Two (Viva Cruises): River ship of the year
– Europa 2 (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises): Readers’ choice Award
Three CEOs of German cruise lines accepted awards: Felix Eichhorn (Aida Cruises), Wybcke Meier (TUI Cruises/Mein Schiff) and Isolde Susset (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises). Numerous other shipping company representatives and industry guests used the award ceremony to network and discuss the latest developments in the cruise business.
Earlier at the same venue, a similar group of participants discussed emission-neutral cruising at the 1st Hamburg Cruise Dialogue: How and when will shipping get green fuels, as well as artificial intelligence in cruising. In this respect, Havila Voyages achieved a particular success with the Havila Pollux award in the sustainability category, which was also the subject of lively discussion during the social part of the evening event.
