Oceanwide Expeditions Awarded at the ECN Awards
Oceanwide Expeditions, with 30 years of experience in the expedition cruise industry and a pioneer in polar tourism, has been awarded in three categories at the inaugural Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) Expedition Cruise Awards.
The three awards for Best Expedition Cruise Operator for Polar Destinations, Best Expedition Cruise Operator for Sustainability, and Best Medium-Sized Expedition Cruise Operator were presented to the company during an award ceremony held in London on October 1, organized by the ECN and sponsored by Travelzoo.
The ceremony was attended by Franklin Braeckman, Antarctic Program Manager, and Toto Vermue, Sales Account Manager. Both also participated in the ECN Conference 2024, held from October 1 to 2, engaging in panel discussions and connecting with partners, clients, and other industry professionals at an Oceanwide Expeditions booth.
Franklin Braeckman, Antarctic Program Manager at Oceanwide Expeditions, expressed his delight at winning these awards and noted that the company has been recognized by the industry for its offerings. Michel van Gessel, Director of Oceanwide Expeditions, also expressed his enthusiasm for receiving the awards, stating that they are a testament to Oceanwide Expeditions’ rich offerings and its thirty years of experience in the polar expedition cruise sector. He also thanked the entire staff for their hard work, dedication, and passion.
The Expedition Cruise Awards recognize the best expedition cruise companies and top sellers in the industry across seven categories related to expedition cruising and five categories dedicated to the travel trade. Nominations and voting for the Expedition Cruise Awards were open only to tourism industry professionals, giving Oceanwide Expeditions recognition from industry members for their success.
In the midst of the celebrations for the awards received, the company is preparing for the start of the Antarctic season 24-25, with the first voyage scheduled for October 18, 2024.
