The Good Housekeeping Family Travel Awards celebrate travel options that offer outstanding value, quality, and joy for families, from parents with young children to multigenerational groups. Winners are selected through a comprehensive process involving expert reviews, consumer feedback, and hands-on testing by Good Housekeeping editors. Sun Princess stood out for its innovative design, luxurious amenities, and unique entertainment, creating a perfect setting for memorable family celebrations.

Sun Princess is the first in the Sphere Class, an innovative ship design exclusively developed for Princess Cruises. The ship recently completed its inaugural Mediterranean season and has launched its first Caribbean itineraries from Ft. Lauderdale. A sister ship, Star Princess, is set to join the fleet in Fall 2025, offering similar Caribbean routes before transitioning to Alaska in Spring 2026.

Highlights of Sun Princess include: The Dome, inspired by Santorini’s terraces, this geodesic glass-enclosed venue features an indoor-outdoor pool and solarium by day, transforming into a multi-purpose entertainment space at night and the Sphere Atrium, a suspended, ocean-view hub where guests can enjoy live music, dancing, and curated activities designed to bring families together.

Families with children will find age-specific activities and supervised clubs on board: the Firefly Park (Deck 6), a creative and exploratory space for younger children, featuring art projects, science experiments, climbing structures, and a play area for toddlers (ages 6 months to 3 years). After-hours babysitting is available from 10 PM–1 AM for $5. The Neon Grove & Underground (Deck 7), a separate spaces for tweens and teens, offering gaming consoles (PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch), air hockey, foosball, skeeball, scavenger hunts, dance parties, and more.

Sun Princess features over 30 dining and bar venues, including celebrity collaborations: the Spellbound by Magic Castle, a mix of magic and mixology; Makoto Ocean, Sushi by Chef Makoto Okuwa; Love by Britto, an art-infused romantic dining experience by Romero Britto; The Butcher’s Block by Dario, a steakhouse led by famed butcher Dario Cecchini; The Catch by Rudi, Chef Rudi Sodamin’s seafood dining concept; Umai Teppanyaki, the first teppanyaki restaurant on a Princess ship.

Entertainment highlights include state-of-the-art performances in the Princess Arena and Cirque Éloize shows in The Dome. Guests also enjoy personalized service with Princess Cruises’ signature Medallion Class technology.
