A&K Travel Group: Alliance with Architecture and Design
A&K Travel Group, a global company specializing in luxury and personalized travel, has announced an exclusive partnership with the acclaimed architect Adriana Granato and a long-term collaboration with naval architects Giacomo and Lorenzo Mortola.
Adriana Granato, who graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and the Politecnico di Torino, also holds a PhD in Design and Technologies for Cultural Heritage and is one of the youngest professors ever hosted by the Politecnico di Milano. In 2018, she founded Studio Ibsen, a collaboration of architects, interior designers, and researchers working on national and international projects, academic research, and numerous social initiatives.
From Milan, Granato will bring her extensive experience and unique perspective to A&K Travel Group‘s architecture and interior design projects, including campsites, lodges, boats, and ships. For the new A&K campsites and lodges, Granato will work closely with local architects and interior designers to ensure that the group’s Italian heritage, style, and taste harmoniously blend with regional materials, motifs, and colors.
Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, expressed her excitement about the collaboration with Granato, highlighting that since the beginning of this partnership in 2019, Adriana has proven to be a valuable asset, achieving exceptional results even in the most challenging projects. Levis emphasized that Granato’s vast knowledge and unparalleled expertise in materials, forms, and the history of architecture make her a true visionary in her field.
Additionally, Levis appreciates the architect’s deep understanding of the company’s vision for its two brands, combined with an awareness of the company’s strategic goals, enabling her to find the right balance between tradition and innovation. This, according to the CEO of A&K, ensures that their offerings align with both present and past generations.
Adriana Granato expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating that it is an honor to work with a legendary travel group that has always been at the forefront of travelers’ attention. She emphasized that the ability to blend the spirit of places and communities makes architecture so meaningful, highlighting that A&K has promoted this over the years.
Adriana Granato also fully embraces the company’s vision from the beginning of their collaboration and is excited to work with A&K’s passionate and experienced team. Consequently, she will oversee all architecture and interior design projects for A&K Travel Group, coordinating and guiding the professionals involved.
Regarding the new oceanic and exploratory ships of Crystal, as well as some of A&K’s new riverboats, they will be designed by the renowned Studio Gem in Genoa, led by architect Giacomo Mortola and his son Lorenzo.
Based in Genoa, the Mortolas boast 70 years of combined experience in naval design and have crafted the interiors of the most elegant ships sailing the oceans. A team of talented naval engineers and architects, led by Roberto Fazi, SVP Marine of Crystal, will actively collaborate with Studio Gem and Studio Ibsen.
Levis commented on the partnership with the Mortolas, stating that she has worked with Giacomo and Lorenzo for many years, from the construction and renovation of other ships to the refurbishment of Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. She highlights how Giacomo’s sophisticated taste and meticulous attention to detail, combined with his talented son Lorenzo’s pragmatic and fresh vision, represent the perfect combination for the ambitions of A&K’s future ships and projects.
Fernando Delgado, Chief Product Officer of A&K Travel Group, concluded by expressing his excitement to have Adriana on his team. He noted that Granato brings years of experience in sustainable architecture, both in nature and historical buildings, as well as a refined eye for detail and Italian style. Her presence has already made a difference in the early projects she has participated in, and now the opportunity to work with Giacomo and Lorenzo Mortola, with whom Delgado has previously collaborated, is a positive addition.
This new alliance promises to bring an innovative and sophisticated touch to A&K Travel Group’s future projects, ensuring that the group’s legacy continues to evolve in line with the needs and tastes of modern travelers.
