ALMACO Group Completes the Renovation of Aroya
ALMACO Group has recently completed a major renovation of the Aroya cruise ship, owned by AROYA Cruises.
This extensive modernization project, carried out in collaboration with MJM, spanned several months across multiple shipyards in Bremerhaven and Rotterdam before the vessel reached its homeport in Jeddah in early December. Now, Aroya is ready to offer passengers new cruise experiences, further solidifying its position in the luxury cruise market in the Gulf region.

Formerly known as World Dream, Aroya underwent a large-scale transformation led by ALMACO Group, covering multiple key areas of the ship. The company installed two new onboard kitchens, created a children’s cooking school, made significant upgrades to the main galley, and added four new bars and cafés. The extensive refurbishment also included the replacement of catering equipment in 12 operational areas, both front-of-house and back-of-house, as well as a complete renovation of 800 square meters of public spaces. In total, the project required the installation of over 38 tons of new catering equipment, supplied by 112 different material vendors.
Thanks to ALMACO’s extensive expertise in the maritime industry, the work was carried out to the highest quality standards and completed on schedule, ensuring that the vessel could return to service without delay. The success of the project was made possible by the strong collaboration between ALMACO, MJM, and the AROYA Cruises team.
Esko Ryyppö, Project Manager at ALMACO, expressed great satisfaction with the completion of the renovation, emphasizing that the final result is a testament to the exceptional teamwork between MJM, the shipowner, and the ALMACO team. Their collective efforts have transformed Aroya into a state-of-the-art cruise ship, ready to deliver an unparalleled travel experience.
