DAMPA: Innovation, Design and Sustainability
DAMPA is a Danish company with over 70 years of experience in designing and manufacturing high-quality metal ceilings.
Since its founding in 1951, the company has distinguished itself by seamlessly combining aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability, becoming a benchmark in both the construction and maritime sectors. Its products are used in a variety of environments, from ships to large commercial buildings, thanks to their versatility and durability.
One of DAMPA’s key strengths is its wide range of solutions, from tiles to modular panels, as well as customization options that allow each ceiling to be tailored to the specific needs of a project. Digital printing technologies and special finishes, such as laminates and coated surfaces, offer endless creative possibilities without compromising product quality and durability. The goal is always to create comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and functional environments while improving acoustics and indoor air quality.

DAMPA’s product range includes metal ceiling solutions for every design requirement. DAMPA Clip-In and DAMPA Hook-On tiles are ideal for those seeking a practical, easy-to-install system with a sleek, modern look. Meanwhile, panels such as DAMPA 10/100/200/300, DAMPA DCC, and DAMPA Interval provide greater design flexibility, allowing for custom ceilings in various sizes and textures.
One of the most intriguing aspects of DAMPA’s offerings is the ability to fully customize surface appearances. Digital printing, for instance, allows any image or pattern to be directly reproduced onto metal panels, giving designers the freedom to create unique and distinctive spaces. This technology is particularly valued in the maritime sector, where design plays a crucial role in passenger experience.
Available finishes include raw and natural surfaces, such as Nordic steel or anodized aluminum, which lend an elegant, industrial aesthetic. Coated surfaces, on the other hand, offer a wide range of colors, with the option to create custom samples based on client requests. For those seeking a more refined and decorative effect, DOBEL F105 laminated panels provide the perfect solution, combining durability and style in a single product.
DAMPA’s excellence in metal ceilings is evident in high-profile maritime projects, including the Viking Glory and Spirit of Tasmania ships.
For Viking Glory, one of the most sustainable passenger ships in the world, DAMPA supplied approximately 1,200 square meters of DAMPA Clip-In tiles with digital printing. The ceiling design, featuring a geometric triangular pattern in two different shades, was developed to create a welcoming and modern atmosphere in key areas such as the info point, the Torget café, and the conference lobby. The use of digital printing allowed for a perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality, while also ensuring easy installation and long-term durability.

Another significant project was the Spirit of Tasmania, for which DAMPA provided various ceiling solutions for public areas and the command bridge. The interior design was carefully crafted to provide a comfortable and refined travel experience, taking full advantage of DAMPA’s versatile finishes. In the cinema lobby, for example, black DAMPA Clip-In tiles were installed to create an intimate and immersive ambiance. Meanwhile, the lounge features DAMPA Interval panels with wood-effect finishes in three different shades, resulting in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The buffet restaurant stands out with a white ceiling made of DAMPA Interval 190/10 panels, while the central buffet area is enhanced with copper-finished tiles, adding a touch of elegance to the space. The café follows the same design approach, using wood-effect panels to create a more welcoming environment. For the command bridge, blue DAMPA 200 panels were selected, aligning with both the aesthetic of the ship and the functional requirements of the crew.
DAMPA is committed not only to providing aesthetic and functional solutions but also to ensuring environmental sustainability. The company adheres to the “Three R’s” principle: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, striving to minimize its environmental impact throughout the entire product lifecycle.

One of the pillars of DAMPA’s sustainability approach is the use of environmentally friendly materials. Raw material suppliers are carefully selected to meet high standards, with a particular focus on recycled metals. The steel and aluminum used in DAMPA’s production contain a significant percentage of recycled content, reducing the consumption of virgin resources.
The manufacturing process is also optimized to minimize waste. All metal scraps generated during production are collected and recycled, while the coatings used in surface finishes are free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This not only ensures a healthier work environment for employees but also contributes to lower emissions of harmful substances.
To further reduce its carbon footprint, DAMPA has optimized logistics, minimizing transportation distances between suppliers, production facilities, and customers. The packaging has also been redesigned with sustainability in mind, using recyclable materials and reducing plastic waste.
DAMPA’s commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the durability of its products. DAMPA metal ceilings are designed for a long lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacements and maintenance. Additionally, the ability to dismantle and reinstall panels in new locations further reduces waste, supporting a more circular economy.
A concrete example of this philosophy is the introduction of low-climate-impact aluminum, which reduces CO₂ emissions by 69% compared to traditional materials. This innovation represents a significant step forward in creating more sustainable and environmentally friendly construction solutions.
