Silver Ray and Almaco: New Onboard Catering Systems

Recently, the ALMACO Group successfully completed the delivery of all kitchens and storage facilities aboard the Silver Ray, the latest ship added to the Silversea Cruises fleet, built at the MEYER WERFT shipyard in Papenburg. This significant milestone demonstrates the cooperation and shared expertise between ALMACO, the shipyard, and the cruise company.

ALMACO Group is a contractor specializing in the construction and modernization of ship interiors, offering solutions that include design, engineering, and maintenance. Founded in 1998, it has offices in several countries, including Italy, the United States, and China.

The kitchens and storage facilities supplied by ALMACO for Silver Ray are designed to reflect the high standards already seen on its sister ship, Silver Nova. The facilities have been carefully designed to meet the needs of the onboard culinary team, equipped with advanced tools and layouts aimed at optimizing operations and improving food preparation and storage processes. These facilities are set to serve eight restaurants and a selection of bars, offering a variety of dining options to satisfy all kinds of tastes. The project included the design, supply, construction, and testing of all kitchens, pantries, and bar equipment.

The project’s success was amplified by the extraordinary synergy between the ALMACO team and its partners. Frédéric Vasseur, President of ALMACO’s Catering Division, stated that collaboration with the shipyard teams was key to achieving an outstanding result. Project Manager Eric Guiot added that seeing their collective vision come to life with such precision was truly rewarding, and that having a long history of collaboration was incredibly beneficial.

Silver Ray is not just a ship but a pioneer in maritime sustainability. The ship is equipped with innovative features that set new standards in eco-friendly cruising. The quality and longevity of the equipment supplied by ALMACO significantly contribute to the ship’s sustainable profile. High-quality equipment, when properly maintained, can extend its useful life for several years, thus reducing the need for frequent replacements.

As Silver Ray embarks on its journey, it receives the best wishes for a successful voyage. Sailing through some of the world’s most beautiful waters, Silver Ray is ready to offer unparalleled experiences, thanks in part to the quality contributions from the ALMACO Group.
