Oceania Cruises: Float Out for Allura

Allura, the new ship from Oceania Cruises, has been floated out and moved from the dry dock to the mooring where the fitting of its luxurious interiors will begin.

At the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, on the border of the famous port of Genoa, the ship was blessed by the shipyard’s chaplain, Father Stefano, in a low-key ceremony due to the recent passing of General Claudio Graziano, Chairman of Fincantieri.

As per tradition, Allura’s godmother, Caterina Romeo, a designer from Fincantieri’s technical office, christened the ship, blessing it along with all those who will sail with her. “The float out is an important moment for all of us at Oceania Cruises and Fincantieri. Now that we have completed her shell, we are excited to begin work on her interior. We plan to make many enhancements to Allura, our eighth ship, which will further elevate our offering and firmly establish Oceania Cruises as the only ultra-premium cruise brand,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises.

Allura is the eighth ship of Oceania Cruises and the second of the Allura class with a capacity of 1,200 guests, following her sister ship, Vista, launched with great success in May 2023. The ship will be a masterpiece of refined design and innovative amenities, setting new standards in the cruise industry. Allura is rapidly approaching her debut with the final stages of construction focused on the outfitting of the sumptuous suites, sophisticated lounges, and exceptional restaurants, all tied to Oceania Cruises’ commitment to culinary excellence.

Among the new amenities are a crêperie with made-to-order crêpes and waffles as well as delightful gelato sundaes; five specialty dining venues, including the brand-new exclusive restaurants Ember and Aquamar Kitchen; one chef for every ten guests; and a new luxurious library featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls located just steps from the ship’s LYNC Digital Center.

The official cruise departing from Trieste on July 18, 2025, will be a six-day journey to Athens with stops in the Eastern Mediterranean, including Rijeka (Croatia), Ravenna, Dubrovnik, and Kotor (Montenegro). Among its inaugural cruises, the ship will also undertake a unique four-day roundtrip journey from New York City in September 2025.

After this summer season in the Mediterranean, Allura will sail to Canada and New England for a series of North American voyages, finishing her first winter season in the Caribbean with departures from Miami. The most spacious standard cabins, hundreds of shore excursions, and abundant onboard entertainment, including art classes at the beloved Artist Loft, sommelier demonstrations, and the Chef’s Studio, complete the Oceania Cruises experience.
