Phoenix Reisen: Renovation for two fleet ships

Recently, the ships MS Amadea and MS Deutschland of the Bonn-based tour operator Phoenix Reisen returned to service after undergoing scheduled refurbishments in April at Bremerhaven. The work, with a total investment of over 20 million euros, aimed to update and improve both vessels.

The MS Amadea underwent significant modernization and refurbishment at Lloyd Werft shipyards, with the goal of making the ship more eco-friendly. Key operations included the overhaul of the main engines, upgrading the exhaust system, installing new potable water pipes, and adding a second water production unit via osmosis.

Additionally, all suites and junior suites were completely refurbished, the wellness center now features new panoramic windows, and the air conditioning system was replaced. A new restaurant, Pichlers, with 42 seats, was set up on deck 8 and is available to Phoenix Reisen guests at no extra charge. For quick snacks, a permanent snack buffet has also been introduced at Harry’s Bar.

The MS Deutschland spent two weeks at Bredo Werft for refurbishment work. Along with the usual summer painting, the teak deck was restored, and the ship received eco-friendly underwater painting. Inside, carpets and upholstery were renewed, and many cabin beds were fitted with new mattresses. The MS Deutschland is currently on a twelve-day cruise around the British Isles.

The MS Amadea, after two short trial cruises starting on May 10, 2024, will sail through the fjords of southern Norway, offering guests the opportunity to explore some of Northern Europe’s most captivating destinations.

With these updates, Phoenix Reisen demonstrates its commitment to providing high-quality travel experiences, combining luxury, comfort, and environmental sustainability. The refurbished MS Amadea and MS Deutschland are ready to offer unforgettable adventures to their guests.
