Coral Expeditions: Circumnavigation of Australia

In 2025, you will be able to undertake an exclusive, 60-night Cairns-to-Cairns anti-clockwise circumnavigation of Australia.

Prices for the “Australia’s Coastal Legend” circumnavigation expedition start from US$ 35,000 per person for Coral Deck stateroom and up to US$ 80,000 per person for the Bridge Deck Balcony Suites which at 55 sqm are amongst the best quality suites in global cruising.

Following the success of the inaugural Circumnavigation of Australia in 2022, Australia’s pioneering cruise line Coral Expeditions will set sail on a new luxury small ship expedition onboard Coral Adventurer on October 17th 2025. Its “Australia’s Coastal Legend” cruise offers  48 excursion experiences dispersed around the vast and diverse coastal landscape of Australia. Guests will be accompanied by our all-Australian crew and a range of special hosts with deep expertise to showcase and share experiences ranging from intimate seasonal encounters with endemic marine and terrestrial flora and fauna, cultural connections with remote first nations and coastal communities, discovering dramatic shorelines and tidal landscapes and learning of the rich heritage and historical significance of destinations along the way.

There will be a special cultural feast and performances in the Thursday Islands, a winemaker’s lunch event with paired wines in Margaret River and finally a charter flight to enjoy a day in the Queensland outback at a legendary country homestead. Guest numbers will be limited to 112 passengers.

Says Commercial Director Jeff Gillies, Commercial Directo: ““One key new element will be that our culinary team has developed a program of shore excursions and onboard offerings inspired by the globally renowned regional produce we will find along the way. This will include tastings of cool climate wines in Tasmania’s Tamar region, indulging in oysters and abalone fresh from the sea in South Australia, enjoying a special seafood night onboard whilst in the Houtman’s Abrolhos Islands and sampling the tropical delights of northern Australia’s fruits and native ingredients”.

Guests will also be able to walk with traditional First Nations elders on Stanley Island, enjoy a flute of Champagne at Pajinka on the Tip of Australia, step ashore on Restoration Island and the Tiwi islands, snorkel and dive around Lizard Island and Ashmore Reef before heading south to West Australia to witness the annual whale migration of the Indian Ocean, visit island outposts such as Lacapedes, Montebello and Murion Islands  as well as the Houtman’s Abrolhos Group.

Along the southern coast, you will sail past the iconic Bunda Cliffs and the 12 Apostles, taste fresh oysters in Coffin Bay and abalone on Flinders Island plus visiting the famous Kangaroo and Philip Islands and Tasmania’s Tamar River. The last leg of the epic journey takes in Sydney Harbour, K’gari (Fraser Island) and the Whitsunday archipelago before returning to Cairns in Queensland, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

The 120-passenger Coral Adventurer has been purpose-built by Coral Expeditions to suit its style of extended expedition cruising. The ship’s shallow draught and high manoeuvrability allow us access to coastal regions where others cannot go. Lightweight dual Xplorer expedition tenders, a trademark feature of all Coral Expeditions vessels, extend the capabilities of the ship by allowing fast transit for all passengers with open views on shore excursions and deeper exploration into the visiting regions.
