Explora I: Destination Experience Details Revealed

Further details of EXPLORA I’s Destination Experiences have been revealed by Explora Journeys, with the first season set to launch in the Caribbean in November 2023.

The long stops will give Explora I travelers the opportunity to get to know the culture, nature and rich gastronomy of each place; divided into small groups of 2 to 25 people, there will be plenty of time to appreciate the destination and its wonders. Underscoring its commitment to more responsible and rigorous tourism, Explora Journeys will ensure minimal impact on both the environment and local communities.

Below are some of the Destination Experiences travelers can choose from this Caribbean season:

Virgin Gorda: From the famous rock formations of Baths National Park to Gorda Peak National Park and its incredible views, passengers will be immersed in the beauty of nature.

Curaçao: A thrilling experience onboard a submarine will allow guests to go as deep as 200 meters, providing incredible views.

Samana: Caves and mangroves will enchant travelers at Los Haitises National Park, followed by Samana Cigar and Casa Tipica, where guests will discover the secrets of cigar making while sampling local cuisine.

Guadalupe: In the marine reserve named after famed ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, travelers can admire both ancient ships lying on the seabed and the coral reef teeming with fish.

Explora Journeys also unveiled Explora I‘s new destinations in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe between May and September 2024.

On May 18, 2024, Explora I will depart Miami, Florida, for Lisbon and then Europe for the 2024 summer season. Alternating between well-known ports and lesser-known destinations, travelers will experience a series of fascinating itineraries and unforgettable voyages in Northern Europe. There will be 8 itineraries in the Mediterranean with stops at famous destinations such as Saint Tropez in France, Kusadasi in Turkey, Santorini in Greece and Paphos in Cyprus; Svalbard and Honningsväg in Norway will be the most anticipated destinations on the 4 Northern European voyages.

Originally planned for Alaska, Explora I has been postponed to the summer of 2024 in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe: this is because Explora Journeys has listened to the needs of travelers and travel consultants, emphasizing the European style of the brand, so lively and cosmopolitan.

Each journey will therefore be unique and unforgettable, designed to allow the traveler to enjoy every aspect of the place visited.

Sacha Rougier, Head of Itinerary Planning and Destination Experiences at Explora Journeys, said: “Our voyages to the Mediterranean and Northern Europe for the summer of 2024 are designed to highlight not only the beauty, but more importantly the rich diversity of these regions, offering unforgettable adventures to all who embark.”

From August 25 to September 10, 2024, Explora I will sail to the “Far North of Europe”: from the typical English countryside to the Norwegian fjords and the Svalbard Islands, travelers will be enchanted by the majesty of nature and the breathtaking scenery, which will gradually become more mysterious and fascinating.

Excellence in providing luxury experiences through personalized service will be the common thread of each trip – this is what characterizes the Explora Journeys brand.

Extended Caribbean Season October 2024 to April 2025

By popular demand, Explora I will remain in the Caribbean from October 2024 to April 2025. The new voyages to this region will reflect what is the “all” Ocean State of Mind, or the blend of culture, exciting adventure, culinary discovery, entertainment and holistic wellness that characterizes the Explora Journeys brand.

Explora I‘s maiden voyage will last 15 days and is scheduled to depart the United Kingdom on July 17, 2023. This stunning vessel, the first of 6 luxury ships to be built for the Explora Journeys brand, will set sail from Southampton through the Norwegian Fjords to the Arctic Circle and then return to Copenhagen, Denmark.
