Lindblad Expeditions: spring to Svalbard
Lindblad Expeditions has announced that this April it will venture into the Arctic, in the Svalbard Islands, with its new polar ship, the National Geographic Resolution.
The expeditions will take place during the spring awakening of the Arctic, an experience few have seen and the technology of National Geographic Resolution, with the expertise of Lindblad‘s polar captains, will offer a unique experience.
Set in beautiful frozen landscapes and snow capped mountains, the expedition will travel deep in and around the Svalbard archipelago in search of walruses, seals with their cubs and polar bears returning to their spring hunting grounds on the pack ice. Guests will have the opportunity to walk on the iced sea, an adventure only possible in early spring, while photographers will be amazed by the lights and landscapes.
Sven Lindblad, founder of Lindblad Expeditions, will join the departure on April 18 and also led a small reconnaissance team to Svalbard to determine if early spring would be a good time of year to explore this amazing region for their own guests.
“It was without doubt the most magical arctic experience any of us have ever had. It was stunningly beautiful and we validated every premise we imagined. Unique and wonderful, we were alone in one of the wildest places in the world”, he observed.
