Scenic Eclipse Discovering Northern Europe
Scenic Cruises has included in its program, for next July, the cruise “Northern Europe Discovery: Iceland & Norway“, a nine-day journey from Iceland to Norway that will take guests to sail through imposing fjords, to walk on cobbled streets in historic cities, and to spot wildlife.
Guests will embark on board the luxurious Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse, which will sail through Viking waters for an unforgettable Nordic adventure combining exploration and luxury.
This splendid adventure will begin in Reykjavík, the northernmost capital in the world, warmly welcomed by the crew of Scenic Eclipse, which accommodates a maximum of 228 guests. Departing from Reykjavik, guests will head towards Heimaey and the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar), full of majestic natural beauty, where it will be possible to stroll and visit the places affected by the eruption of the Eldfell volcano in 1973, but also to spot puffins nesting or orcas.

After two days of sailing, you will arrive at Geiranger to admire the Geirangerfjord, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most fascinating sceneries in Norway. The next stop will be the colorful city of Kristiansund, which extends over four enchanting islands and seems to float in the Atlantic Ocean. Here, a taste of the city’s specialty cannot be missed: Bacalao, a traditional cod stew with tomatoes.
Finally, guests will head towards the Lofoten Islands, with spectacular peaks, sheltered coves, and pristine beaches, where they will first visit Reine, an authentic Norwegian fishing village with an estimated population of about 300 inhabitants, and then Lekness. This rare wild region offers breathtaking scenery surrounded by majestic mountains, deep fjords, colonies of seabirds, and picturesque fishing villages.

The journey will end in Tromsø, known as the cultural center of the Arctic, which during the summer is full of locals basking in the sun, enjoying fresh fish on the pier, or taking a dip in the refreshing waters of the local beach.
