Scenic: new Antarctic itineraries 2023/2024

Scenic is introducing new itineraries that allow guests to avoid the nearly two-day trip to the Drake Canal by flying from Punta Arenas, Chile, to meet the ultra-luxury Yacht Discovery line, Scenic Eclipse, on King George Island in Antarctica, the largest of the South Shetland Islands.

Guests booking one of the new 2023/24 Antarctica itineraries can save up to 20% – 10% for booking early and 10% for paying for the cruise in full 12 months prior to departure.

New itineraries include:

The new nine-day Antarctica Insights: Fly & Cruise voyage will be Scenic Eclipse‘s first flighted cruise, allowing guests to fly across the Drake Canal in one direction, flying from Punta Arenas, Chile, to King George Island to board the luxury yacht, returning by yacht to Ushuaia, Argentina, for a flight to Buenos Aires and then back home.

For guests who wish to avoid crossing the Drake Channel altogether, Scenic also offers the nine-day Wild Antarctica: Fly the Drake itinerary, with flights in both directions between Punta Arenas and King George Island. Guests will spend one night at the end of the cruise in Punta Arenas and the rest of the time exploring the White Continent.

Finally, for those travelers who are really looking to fully explore and experience a rare opportunity, Scenic presents the new 16-day trip Beyond the Antarctic Circle, which explores the Antarctic Circle in greater depth in more remote locations.

Visiting Antarctica aboard Scenic Eclipse offers guests the opportunity to sail on Zodiac or kayaks and paddleboards around impressive ice formations, climb islands uninhabited by humans and walk among vast colonies of penguins and seals and, if conditions permit, visit a working science base and meet the staff there. There is also the opportunity to explore below the horizon aboard the Scenic Neptune, the ship’s six-guest submarine, taking in the wildlife and scenery beneath the continent’s icy surface or explore above the horizon, on one of the state-of-the-art helicopters, the breathtaking landscape far from the touch of humans.

Also on board, Polar Discovery’s team of 20 specialists will host a series of engaging and educational lectures on the history, geography and ecosystem of the Antarctic.
