Seabourn Venture sets sail on its first voyage

Seabourn Venture, the first of Seabourn‘s two new ultra-luxury expedition ships, entered service and welcomed its first guests aboard on a 12-day Northern Islands expedition, departing from Tromsø, Norway, and heading to the Arctic and the Svalbard archipelago.

“Exploration has always been a part of our brand heritage, but the launch of Seabourn Venture opens a new chapter for us, offering our guests the opportunity to explore remote destinations in every corner of the globe and truly be a part of the natural wonders, wildlife, history and culture they will find there,” said Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn. “Seabourn guests are as passionate about discovery as they are about ultra-luxury travel, and Seabourn Venture offers a new kind of expedition experience that allows our guests to discover magnificence from the Arctic to Antarctica.”

Seabourn Venture now begins its inaugural season with a series of 12- to 15-day voyages exploring the Arctic, Greenland and Iceland and the Canadian Arctic Archipelago in Nunavut. Destination highlights include Scoresby Sound, Greenland, Sermilik Fjord, Svalbard and Pond Inlet, Nunavut.

The ship will head south in October 2022, stopping at various locations in the Caribbean, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile on a series of 10- to 14-day voyages. Between November 2022 and February 2023, Seabourn Venture will sail to Antarctica and then explore South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. In March and April 2023, Seabourn Venture will embark on a series of 7- to 12-day expedition voyages to Brazil and the Amazon.

Seabourn Venture is designed and built for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards and includes modern hardware and technology that extend the ship’s global deployment and capabilities. It also features a 26-person world-class expedition team whose role is to give guests the most from expeditions ashore and at sea.

Public spaces throughout the ship evoke the spirit of adventure and excitement of discovery balanced with Seabourn-style luxury and comfort. These include the Expedition Lounge on Deck 4; the adjacent Discovery Center; and the Bow Lounge, a privileged setting for observing marine life with the closest access to the water on the ship. Seabourn Venture‘s highest indoor vantage point is the Constellation Lounge on the upper deck, with stunning 270-degree views and an intimate interior dressed in dark blue and red inspired by the constellations in the night sky.

The ship is also equipped with kayaks and several Zodiacs, as well as two custom-built submarines, each with a capacity for six people.
