SeaDream: cruises in Norway starting in June

SeaDream Yacht Club is restarting with cruises in Norway during the month of June, after the suspension of all itineraries that occured mid-March up to the present. The itineraries in Norway range in length between 7 and 12 days and offer cruising among fjords, cities and the beautiful Lofoten Islands. There are 9 initial cruises planned, from June through September, with destinations that were carefully chosen by the owner and founder of the company, Atle Brynestad.

Thanks to the prevention and disinfection procedures utilized by SeaDream Yacht Club during the health emergency they did not have any Covid-19 cases on board among either passengers or crew. Their cruise itineraries were however suspended as a precaution and also due to the international travel restrictions imposed. In the meantime, their two ships were moved to Lisbon, Portugal where the crews have carried out extensive maintenance works and improvements.

Usually the SeaDream operates in the Caribbean and in the Mediterranean, but it won’t be the first time it has headed to Norway. However, it has never gone beyond the Arctic Circle, which will now give guests the chance to enjoy the midnight sun and other incredible scenery.

Andreas Brynestad had this to say: “We believe that there is no better way to explore Norway this summer than on board the SeaDream. We know that our guests cherish the SeaDream experience that includes casual elegance and gourmet cuisine, accompanied by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Our yachts offer a safe environment where the air is clean, the food is healthy and the exterior spaces available to guests are always top notch.”

The proposed itineraries last between 7 and 12 days and include the city of Bergen and, during the longest cruise, a total of 3 days in the Lofoten Islands – one of the most famous destinations in Norway. The itineraries also include Olden as well as privileged access to the exploration of glaciers, waterfalls and historical sites. The town of Ålesund is also not to be missed, with its Art Nouveau architecture and its landscape marked by numerous small archipelagos on the Atlantic. And of course all guests will enjoy the famous city of Bergen, in the heart of the fjords, which is the second largest city in Norway and features a famous fish market. Other charming places included in the fantastic itineraries are: Geiranger, Flam, Rosendal, Skagen and Rorvk.

It will be possible to explore these destinations during organized excursions so that you don’t miss out on anything offered by the various stops in the program. These tours, immersed in nature or Norwegian culture, add to the value of the SeaDream cruise experience, which is known for its careful and attentive service, excellent cuisine, and the feeling of cruising on a large private yacht.

Reading about new and upcoming itineraries is some of the best news we’ve heard in a while in the cruising world and we hope that it is only the beginning for a gradual return to sailing around the world on beautiful cruise ships in complete safety.
