Windstar: winter itineraries in the Mediterranean 2025/26
Windstar Cruises, capitalizing on the growing trend of year-round travel in Europe, has unveiled its new winter itineraries in the Mediterranean for 2025/2026, establishing itself as one of the very few cruise companies to sail in the Mediterranean during the winter.
Windstar offers six unique itineraries plus six Star Collectors departures, combining itineraries for deeper exploration, catering to guests who want to make the most of their cruise travels. The competitively priced Star Collector voyages also include complimentary laundry service and give travelers the opportunity to stay longer in cities and explore Europe to the fullest.
Along with the new departures, Windstar has also launched an early booking offer, expiring on October 31, 2025, which includes a $200 onboard credit per cabin plus a complimentary upgrade to All-Inclusive fares including Wi-Fi; gratuities; unlimited beer, wine, and cocktails.
“Winter in the Mediterranean is a fantastic time to see a different side of this magical region, meet locals, and celebrate special holidays like Christmas in Florence, New Year’s in Dubrovnik, and Carnival throughout Italy,” said Windstar President Christopher Prelog, who added that due to the success last year, winter offerings are now expanding.
Windstar‘s winter itineraries, departing from Athens, Barcelona, Malaga, Rome, and Venice from November 2025 to March 2026, include stops in ports such as Valencia in Spain; Crotone in Italy; and Catania in Sicily. Additionally, a novelty of the 2025/2026 season for Windstar will be a stop in Genoa, Italy, where guests can visit the most important maritime museum in the Mediterranean, the largest aquarium in Europe, or stroll through the Palazzi dei Rolli, a group of splendid palaces from the late 16th and early 17th centuries.
Winter itineraries will also include overnights in Dubrovnik, Venice, Nice, Barcelona, Malaga, and Livorno (Florence), allowing for long days of exploration, aperitifs, and dinners while in port, as well as unique onshore excursions to offer diverse experiences to both new guests and those already familiar with these cities.
All departures will be aboard the Star Legend, equipped with only ocean-view suites with verandas, and an extensive culinary offering with five dining venues: Amphora, Veranda, Candles, Stephen Raichlen’s Star Grill, and Anthony Sasso’s Cuadro 44. As the official cruise line of the James Beard Foundation, Windstar will also offer innovative cuisine with fresh ingredients and local specialties to bring the flavors of the destination on board even during the winter months.
