Carnival Celebration: Completed sea trials

Carnival Celebration, Carnival Cruise Line‘s latest ship, has successfully completed trials in the Baltic Sea from the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland and is almost ready for her long-awaited debut at the Port of Miami in November.

“During the sea trials, Carnival Celebration underwent several tests, with the aim of verifying its capabilities and performance. We did a lot of maneuvering, endurance, tacking, speed and thruster testing. The outcome was wonderfully positive and she will soon be ready to start sailing,” said Captain Vincenzo Alcaras.

Carnival Celebration’s arrival in Miami will coincide with the celebration of the cruise line’s 50th birthday and after the inaugural 6-day Eastern Caribbean cruise, starting November 21 Carnival Celebration will alternate 7-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises throughout the year, departing from Miami, touching on popular destinations such as San Juan, Puerto Rico, Cozumel, Mexico and Grand Turk.

The ship will feature several innovative themed areas, including the 820 Biscayne, a tribute to Miami, where Carnival Cruise Line was born, and the name of this area is reminiscent of the company’s first address, where it all began; but it will also host many of the attractions that have made Mardi Gras one of the most anticipated cruise ships, including BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster, the first roller coaster at sea; Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse, where meat is smoked over hickory wood according to Guy Fieri’s original recipe; and Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken restaurant.
