Celebrity Ascent successfully completes Sea Trials
The sea trials are always a crucial step, not only from a technical standpoint but also symbolically, marking the maiden voyage of a new ship in open waters. It’s a shared success, as demonstrated by the ship’s two brother captains, who guided her into open waters for a series of tests. This achievement is significant in anticipation of her upcoming inaugural voyage.
Under the supervision of over 200 crew members, including Captains Demetrios and Tasos Kafetzis, engineers, and nautical experts, the trials took place in the Bay of Biscay near the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. Celebrity Ascent is set to make its highly anticipated debut on November 22 for its preview voyage from Port Everglades.

Subsequently, a festive 7-night Eastern Caribbean Maiden Voyage departs from the South Florida port on December 3, 2023, inaugurating the ship’s Caribbean season with 7-night itineraries to popular Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations, including the Bahamas, Mexico, Grand Cayman, San Juan, Tortola, and St. Kitts, respectively.

Afterward, Celebrity Ascent heads back to Europe, sailing to the Mediterranean for a spectacular 2024 summer cruise season, featuring a 9-night Italian Riviera and France itinerary, as well as a 12-night Best of Greece and Italy itinerary.
