Cunard: An exclusive Collaboration with Acosta Danza

Cunard announces that the renowned Cuban ballet company, Acosta Danza, will join the Queen Victoria for an exclusive six-week residency from May 26 to July 7, 2025.

Founded by internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer Carlos Acosta, the company will deliver two special performances during their residency, with more details to be unveiled closer to the date. In addition to these captivating shows, guests will have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops and attend panel discussions in the ship’s Royal Court Theatre. Guests can also enjoy Yuli: The Carlos Acosta Story, a biographical film directed by award-winning filmmaker Iciar Bollain, available both in the theatre and on stateroom TV.

Acosta Danza was established with the vision of nurturing Cuba’s vibrant young dance talent. The company blends classical and contemporary dance, infusing it with the country’s rich musical and cultural heritage to create dynamic performances that challenge conventional norms.

These summer sailings will not only captivate theatre enthusiasts but also appeal to sun-seekers, with stops at stunning destinations such as Cephalonia, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Barcelona, Spain. Cunard continues its tradition of offering world-class entertainment by partnering with top names in the industry. Following the success of previous collaborations, including with West End and Broadway producer David Pugh on Queen Anne, this latest partnership highlights Cunard’s commitment to providing guests with unforgettable cultural experiences.

Cunard President Katie McAlister commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Acosta Danza aboard Queen Victoria for what promises to be a spectacular residency next summer. As one of the world’s most renowned contemporary ballet companies, their presence will add a unique artistic flair to our Mediterranean voyages. This partnership allows our guests to experience world-class ballet while enjoying the luxury of Cunard – a perfect blend of elegance and artistry”.

Carlos Acosta added, “We are excited to bring Acosta Danza to Queen Victoria. This residency is a wonderful opportunity for us to share the richness of Cuban culture and our passion for contemporary ballet with Cunard’s guests. Our new productions will combine precision with flair, offering performances that push the boundaries of dance”.
