Explora I: Sylvia Earle becomes godmother
Explora Journeys has announced the name of Explora I‘s godmother, Dr. Sylvia Earle, renowned oceanographer, explorer and environmentalist, who will christen the ship at an official ceremony in Civitavecchia, near Rome, on July 8, 2023.
Sylvia Earle, a pioneer in deep-sea exploration, has dedicated her life to ocean conservation and the protection of the world’s oceans and marine life, and her partnership with Explora Journeys underscores the brand’s commitment to creating sustainable luxury ocean travel and protecting the marine environment.

Explora I, the first of six luxury ships in the Explora Journeys fleet, incorporates the latest sustainable technologies and will utilize alternative energy solutions as they become available, providing guests with an exceptional travel experience while minimizing environmental impact.
Explora I will embark on its inaugural 15-night voyage between the fjords and beyond the Arctic Circle on July 17, 2023, departing from Southampton, UK.
