April is the launch month for MSC World America, the new flagship of the MSC Cruises fleet. A state-of-the-art ship that promises to redefine the cruise experience and offers an unprecedented combination of technology, luxurious comfort and fascinating Caribbean itineraries departing from Miami.

MSC World America represents the second unit of MSC Cruises’ World class and is the sister ship of MSC World Europa, currently operating on Mediterranean cruises. Built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France, she boasts a gross tonnage of  215,863 tonnes spread over 22 decks and can accommodate up to 6,762 passengers. One of the most outstanding features is the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) power supply, which symbolises MSC’s commitment to environmental sustainability. On board MSC World America, guests can indulge in a wide range of culinary options. In fact, the ship hosts no less than 19 different dining options including four main restaurants, two buffets and exclusive options for MSC Yacht Club guests. However, the real novelty is the presence of the first Eataly restaurant at sea. This collaboration with the renowned Italian brand offers authentic, high-quality dishes, bringing the excellence of Italian cuisine to the ocean.

Entertainment and Relaxation for Everyone

MSC World America is designed to provide entertainment and relaxation for passengers of all ages. The ship is divided into seven different districts, each with a unique theme. Among the most exciting attractions is the ‘Cliffhanger’, an innovative swing suspended over the water that promises pure adrenaline for the more adventurous who decide to experience unprecedented thrills on the high seas. For families, on the other hand, an entire deck has been dedicated with activities and spaces designed especially for the little ones, the Family Aventura. Starting in April 2025, MSC World America will sail weekly from the Port of Miami on Caribbean cruises. Itineraries will include stops at fascinating destinations such as the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and MSC’s exclusive private island in the Bahamas, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. This marine reserve, once an industrial site for sand mining, offers pristine beaches and crystal clear waters allowing guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Caribbean.

MSC’s New Cruise Terminal in Miami

A key element of MSC Cruises‘ expansion in the United States is the new state-of-the-art cruise terminal at the Port of Miami. Built in partnership with Fincantieri, the new facility is capable of accommodating up to three state-of-the-art ships simultaneously and handling up to 36,000 passengers per day. The facility allows MSC to deploy the most environmentally efficient ships in the Port of Miami, further strengthening the company’s presence in the
North American market. The terminal’s modern and functional design aims to ensure a smooth and efficient embarkation and disembarkation experience for guests, reducing waiting times and improving overall comfort. In addition, the facility is equipped with advanced technologies for the sustainable management of port operations in line with MSC’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices.
