Oceania Cruises, Culinary Innovations Aboard Allura

Oceania Cruises is bringing its French restaurant Jacques back to the culinary lineup aboard its new ship, Allura, set to sail in July 2025.

Oceania Cruises, the world leader in culinary and destination cruises, will feature its French restaurant Jacques aboard its new ship, Allura, which will set sail in mid-July. Named after the famous Chef Jacques Pépin, the father of Oceania Cruises’ culinary philosophy and the company’s first executive culinary director, this sophisticated restaurant is already a favorite among Oceania Cruises guests sailing aboard Marina and Riviera.

Furthermore, Jacques will make its debut aboard Vista, Allura’s sister ship, in October 2025, joining the Polo Grill steakhouse, the Italian restaurant Toscana, and the Pan-Asian restaurant Red Ginger across all four of the company’s ships, which host over 1,200 guests.

Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, stated that “Jacques” is the culinary patriarch of Oceania, having been part of the culinary team since day one. The creativity and experience of Jacques form the heart of the fleet’s philosophy: The Finest Cuisine at Sea, which drives everything. Bringing this fabulous restaurant to Allura, and Vista, means a lot to the entire Oceania Cruises family.

The two Executive Culinary Directors and Master French Chefs of Oceania Cruises, Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale, will work with Chef Pépin to introduce new flavors to the menu, in addition to perfecting the beloved dishes that have been on the menu since Jacques was first introduced on Marina at its launch.

Chef Pépin expressed his excitement about writing the next chapter of Jacques with his colleagues, chefs Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale. He views it as the perfect opportunity to experiment with some new delicious dishes and explore unique ways to serve some of the classics that Oceania guests have come to know and love. Jacques also teased numerous new projects that he can’t wait to share!

Chef Quaretti mentioned that it is wonderful to bring Jacques to the two newest ships and expressed his excitement about working alongside Chef Pépin to create this latest version of the French restaurant.

The most beloved dishes at Jacques aboard Marina and Riviera will remain on the menu, alongside a selection of new options. These include duck with Grand Marnier-flavored orange sauce and veal medallions with morel mushroom sauce, as well as new vegetarian dishes. For dessert lovers, classic French desserts like Crêpes Suzette and profiteroles will join other tempting choices in the dessert trolley.

Guests will enjoy an enhanced culinary experience at Jacques with the introduction of table-side service for a variety of new dishes, including beef tartare. In addition, new tableware, glasses, and silverware carefully selected to emphasize the importance of “the art of the table” will further elevate the authentic Parisian bistro experience.

Del Rio commented that the beautiful new ship, Allura, represents the bright future of Oceania Cruises while also honoring the company’s history. The addition of Jacques to both Allura and Vista is a wonderful, tangible example of this, celebrating the heritage and the sincere passion for food while always looking ahead to what lies on the horizon.
