Silver Dawn: float out for a new Silversea ship

Silver Dawn, a new Silversea Cruises ship, touched water for the first time during the float out at the Fincantieri shipyards in Ancona. The interior design and fittings will then continue for this, the tenth ship in the Silversea Cruises fleet.

“We celebrate with pride this important goal achieved by our beautiful ship, the Silver Dawn,” declared Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO of Silversea Cruises. “Our long term collaboration with Fincantieri continues to redefine the boundaries within the ultra-luxury cruise sector, and the continual support and experience of the Royal Caribbean Group have been invaluable while building this ship. The Silver Dawn was inspired by both the Silver Muse and the Silver Moon, but our guests can benefit from many pioneering improvements on board this tenth ship in the fleet. We can’t wait to reveal them all in the coming months.”

Silver Dawn is the third ship in the Muse class, following after the Silver Muse which began its service in April 2017 and the Silver Moon which was delivered in Ancona in October 2020. The new unit will be able to accommodate up to 596 guests in 298 suites, 96% of which have balconies. It will present novelties with respect to its previous twin ships, with some environments being revisited and some innovative new spaces added.

Luigi Matarazzo, General Director of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division added: “The Silver Dawn is the fourth ship we’ve built for Silversea based on the very successful project created for the Silver Muse. For a shipbuilder, there can be no better recognition than that of a demanding and prestigious owner who enthusiastically welcomes an innovative platform. We are therefore extremely proud to celebrate the float out of this unit, which consolidates the technological and management leadership of our Group and which takes on an even greater importance in the context of the very challenging situation we are experiencing.”

Silver Dawn demonstrates yet another evolution in the Silversea fleet that, beyond new ships, also brings to the table services that are increasing luxurious and complete all-inclusive packages. The ship will offer eight difference dining options, including the exclusive Sea and Land Taste (SALT) program, but also exclusive suites, excellent itineraries, and cutting-edge design and technology.

The Silver Dawn is expected to enter into service in November 2021. Information, updates and Reviews on Cruising Journal, with photos, videos and cruises on sale.
