Silver Nova Sets Sail on its Inaugural Journey
Silver Nova, the first ship of the Nova class and the twelfth vessel in Silversea‘s ultra-luxury fleet, has embarked on its inaugural journey from Venice, Italy. With a seven-day itinerary traversing the Adriatic, it will make stops at Piran, Slovenia; Zadar, Dubrovnik, Split, and Rovinj in Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro.
“Silver Nova revolutionizes ultra-luxury cruising and sets a new standard for the category,” stated Jason Liberty, President and CEO of the Royal Caribbean Group. “From its innovative horizontal design to the emphasis on sustainable operations, Silver Nova reflects the commitment of the Royal Caribbean Group to offer the finest vacations in the world, responsibly.”
“It has been incredibly exciting to welcome guests on board Silver Nova ahead of its inaugural journey,” said Barbara Muckermann, President of Silversea Cruises. “Benefitting from an innovative asymmetrical design, it immerses guests in the destination, a strong expression of our brand mission. As one of the most spacious ships at sea, and with the widest range of bars, lounges, and restaurants in the ultra-luxury cruise sector, Silver Nova elevates the guest experience like never before. I would like to thank Jason Liberty and all those involved from Silversea, the Royal Caribbean Group, and Meyer Werft. Special thanks to the Royal Caribbean Group Newbuild team, without whom this would not have been possible, and to the fantastic crew of Silver Nova, led by Captain Mino Pontillo, for their invaluable support in launching this groundbreaking ship.”
Silver Nova, one of the most environmentally-conscious ultra-luxury cruise ships ever built, introduces a completely new version of luxury at sea with its innovative design that favors openness over symmetry and an unprecedented use of around 4,000 square meters of glass, immersing guests in the destination from practically every part of the ship. The reimagined pool deck, facing the sea on its starboard side, and the brand-new outdoor venues – Dusk Bar and The Marquee – best reflect its unique openness to the destination.
The new unit accommodates up to 728 guests across 13 different suite categories, the largest variety of suites in Silversea‘s history and among the most spacious accommodations on any cruise ship.
Further enriching the onboard experience are the widest selection of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the ultra-luxury cruise sector; Otium, the Roman-inspired wellness program, complete with new enhancements; its innovative culinary program, Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.), offering a unique dining experience; immersive shore excursions, food lectures, hands-on culinary experiences, and more.
Silver Nova also boasts the highest space-to-guest ratio in the Silversea fleet and provides one of the most personalized service levels at sea with a crew-to-passenger ratio of 1:1.3, including butler service for all suites.
After its inaugural journey, Silver Nova will spend the summer in the Mediterranean before heading to the Caribbean and South America in November. On January 4, 2024, it will embark on the 71-day Grand Voyage of South America, visiting 38 destinations in 18 countries.
