Silversea Cruises: Delivery of Silver Nova
Silversea is proud to announce that the all-new Silver Nova, the most luxurious and eco-friendly cruise ship ever built, was finally delivered on July 19 in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.
Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty joined Silversea President Barbara Muckermann, Meyer Werft executives and other distinguished guests to officially welcome this landmark ship as the twelfth member of the Silversea fleet.

Prior to delivery to Eemshaven, Silver Nova underwent technical sea trials and successfully passed all nautical tests.
In addition to being an important milestone in Royal Caribbean International’s corporate goal of Destination Net Zero, both Silver Nova and future “Nova” class ships are designed to introduce guests to a whole new version of luxury at sea.
“We are very pleased to deliver another ship that will set new standards in carbon neutral cruising. With the propulsion system, a combination of LNG, fuel cell system and batteries, the ship has the best possible measures to reduce emissions,” says Jan Meyer, Managing Director of Meyer Werft.

The Silver Nova will be one of the world’s most environmentally friendly cruise ships thanks to its innovative fuel concept: a fuel cell system will be used on board to complement the LNG engines and power all hotel services. This innovation will lead to the complete elimination of pollutant emissions during port calls. In addition, a battery system will increase the overall efficiency of the ship by absorbing peak loads, thereby significantly reducing fuel consumption. A newly developed Micro Auto Gasification System (MAGS) will convert onboard waste into thermal energy, further increasing the ship’s efficiency.

Silver Nova represents Silversea‘s next concept in luxury, with the largest selection of bars, restaurants and lounges in the ultra-luxury cruise industry; the most spacious guest suites; and a number of innovative features, including an asymmetrical design and horizontal layout unprecedented for the leading ultra-luxury cruise line.
Silver Nova will set sail on its maiden voyage on August 14, 2023 with a seven-day roundtrip itinerary from the beautiful city of Venice.
