Thurgau Travel 2025: The New River Cruises

Thurgau Travel has unveiled its new 2025 catalog, enriched with numerous innovations, including new destinations, larger ships, and sustainable projects. In a comprehensive 168-page offering, the company highlights a wide variety of river cruises, showcasing its prominent role in the sector. Among the proposals are the MS Moments, sailing the Rhine, and the RV Mekong Discovery, which will explore the winding waters of the Mekong River in Southeast Asia.

With a fleet of 22 ships, Thurgau Travel offers cruises on 40 rivers worldwide, with over 480 departures scheduled for 2025. This diversity allows travelers to choose from 65 different itineraries, catering to all tastes.

After the successful launch of the RV Mekong Discovery in 2024, the company has increased departure dates for the 2025/26 season, responding to growing demand for cruises along the Mekong. The company has partnered with a Vietnamese firm to create an unforgettable experience for its guests. Meanwhile, the MS Moments will debut on the Rhine, featuring four suites with private balconies, ideal for those seeking a refined travel experience.

For 2025, the MS Edelweiss has introduced new itineraries along the Rhine, visiting picturesque villages such as Bacharach, which Victor Hugo described as “the wonderland of the Rhine.” Thurgau Travel will also participate in the “Rhine in Flames” event, with two ships offering six-day cruises culminating in spectacular fireworks visible from various locations along the river.

Among the most captivating destinations for 2025 are the Nile, sailed by the MS River Tosca, which guides travelers past ancient Egyptian monuments up to the Aswan Dam, and the Croatian coast, explored aboard the luxurious MY Solaris. Scotland enthusiasts can embark on the MV Lord of the Highlands to discover the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.

The Swiss company has always been committed to promoting sustainable tourism, and a clear example of this is the MS Thurgau Gold, awarded the Green Award certification for its eco-friendly technology. The ship is equipped with a hybrid engine, solar panels, and a heat recovery system, setting new standards for sustainable river cruises. Additionally, the company adheres to the Swisstainable program and supports The Ocean Cleanup, contributing to the reduction of plastic waste in the oceans.

Thurgau Travel continues to innovate in the river cruise industry, introducing new ships, unique destinations, and sustainable solutions, further solidifying its reputation in the market. With such a diverse offering, 2025 promises to be a year full of opportunities for cruise enthusiasts.
