Viking Takes Delivery of Viking Saturn

Viking‘s new cruise ship, Viking Saturn, has been delivered from Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard.

Viking Saturn, the tenth in the class, was designed by established naval architects and engineers, including an interior design team from Los Angeles-based Rottet Studios and London-based SMC Design, who gave the design a modern Scandinavian style inspired by sophisticated yet functional elegance.

In addition to staterooms, all with verandas, the ship features spacious suites with large windows, two swimming pools, including an infinity pool aft, numerous outdoor dining options, and a spa designed in the Scandinavian wellness tradition with a sauna and snow cave.

Like its sister ships, Viking Saturn will be positioned in the small-ship market segment with a gross tonnage of approximately 47,800 tons, 465 cabins and a capacity of 930 passengers.

Like all Viking ships, the newest unit is built to the latest regulations, equipped with the latest safety systems, including “Safe Return to Port”, and certified by Lloyd’s Register. The ships are also equipped with high-efficiency engines, optimized hydrodynamics and hulls that result in lower fuel consumption, and systems that minimize exhaust pollution and meet the most stringent environmental regulations.
