Viking: Viking Mars delivered in Ancona

She was delivered today in the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona Viking Mars, new cruise ship for Viking Cruises.

The unit will position itself in the small unit market segment. Like the twin units, in fact, she will have a gross tonnage of approximately 47,800 tons, will be equipped with 465 cabins and will be able to accommodate 930 passengers on board. Viking Mars, eighth of her class, was designed by established naval architects and engineers, including an interior design team from Los Angeles-based Rottet Studios and London-based SMC Design, who have given the project an inspiration in modern Scandinavian style, characterized by a sophisticated yet functional elegance.

In addition to the cabins all with verandas, the ship features spacious suites with large views, two swimming pools, including an infinity pool at the stern, numerous options for alfresco dining and a spa designed in the tradition of Scandinavian wellbeing, with a sauna and a snow cave.

Viking ships are built according to the most recent navigation regulations and equipped with the most modern safety systems, including the “safe return to port”. They are also equipped with high efficiency engines, hydrodynamics and optimized hull with consequent reduction in consumption and systems that minimize exhaust gas pollution and meet the strictest environmental regulations.
