Windstar Cruises Opens Bookings for Star Seeker

Windstar Cruises has opened bookings for the inaugural season of Star Seeker, the new 112-suite yacht that will join the fleet in December 2025, with itineraries in the Caribbean, Alaska, and Japan.

Star Seeker will set sail on its maiden voyage on December 28, 2025, departing from Malaga, Spain, and crossing the Atlantic with a stop in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands for a New Year’s celebration alongside sister ship Wind Star. The voyage will end on January 13 in Miami, home to Windstar Cruises and the city where the ship’s christening will take place, marking its entry into service and intended to bring good luck and protection to the ship and its crew. As is customary, a godmother or godfather will be chosen to break a bottle of champagne against the hull.

During the voyage, guests will have the opportunity to explore the yacht’s new amenities, such as the fitness center, Windstar’s World Spa, the new specialty restaurant, and the Yacht Club. Shoreside Windstar staff, partners, travel advisors, and media will have the chance to interact with the new ship during a series of special events and ship tours, by invitation only, in Miami to celebrate Star Seeker’s addition to the fleet.

On January 15, 2026, Star Seeker will depart on an eight-day inaugural cruise in the Caribbean from Miami to San Juan, with stops in the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands. Star Seeker will offer additional cruises in the Caribbean region before transiting the Panama Canal and heading toward Alaska and Japan.

Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar, expressed his excitement that Star Seeker will be sailing in the Caribbean before heading to its final destinations, adding that the new yacht is unlikely to return to the Caribbean again, making this a unique opportunity for fans of the Caribbean to explore and experience the ship. He also mentioned plans for some celebrations to reunite Star Seeker with other Windstar ships in the Caribbean and give it a warm welcome to the fleet, such as a sunset sailing parade past the Pitons in St. Lucia with Wind Spirit and Star Pride.

After the Caribbean season, the ship will transit the Panama Canal toward Alaska, where it will sail from May to August 2026. The options for experiencing an epic Alaskan journey include a 49-day cruise from San Juan to Juneau, a 25-day cruise from Costa Rica to Juneau, and a 17-day cruise from Mexico to Juneau. Once in Alaska, the ship will offer two main itineraries, the seven- or eight-day “Scenic Alaska” cruise and the 10-, 11-, or 12-day “Alaskan Splendors” cruise, both sailing between Vancouver, B.C., and Juneau, Alaska, or vice versa. Smaller ports like Haines and Wrangell will offer guests the opportunity to see the grandeur of Alaska with fewer tourists around. Alaska cruises can be combined with a five-day overland tour through the heart of Denali National Park.

Windstar will bring back its popular Signature Expedition program to get guests closer to Alaska’s scenery, including up-close views of scenic fjords and glaciers, as well as opportunities to observe wildlife. Guests can choose to explore by small RIB boat or kayak directly from the ship’s water sports platform in remote and scenic areas like Misty Fjords National Monument, Kenai Fjords National Park, and Tracy Arm Fjords. The team of expert expedition guides will be on board for the entire journey and, in addition to leading the expeditions, will give presentations on Alaska’s natural environment, culture, and history.

After Alaska, Star Seeker will cross the Pacific to Japan in early September, where Windstar will bring back its popular “Grand Japan” itinerary with four departures through October. Highlights of the Japan cruises include a scenic cruise on the Seto Inland Sea, sailing around the abandoned Hashima Island, visiting the peace memorial parks in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, and stops in smaller ports like Takamatsu and Karatsu. Cruisers can also choose to add a three-day overland exploration of Osaka and Kyoto.

The addition of Star Seeker to the fleet marks the company’s return to Alaska and Japan, regions it last sailed in 2023, and additional itineraries in Southeast Asia for Star Seeker are currently under development.
