Sailing with Princess Cruises along the Mexican Riviera itinerary was a truly unforgettable experience, blending the timeless charm of cruising with modern comforts and innovations.
From the moment the famous Love Boat theme song echoes at each departure, you are instantly transported into a unique atmosphere filled with nostalgia and maritime magic. This small yet meaningful touch evokes cherished memories and makes the cruise even more special. Right from embarkation, I was impressed by the efficiency and flawless organization of Princess Cruises. The embarkation and disembarkation processes were incredibly smooth, eliminating any stress and allowing us to fully enjoy every moment.

The Medallion, an innovative technology introduced by Princess Cruises, was a key highlight of this experience. This small smart device makes everything so much easier: it automatically unlocks your cabin door, allows you to locate your travel companions, and even lets you order food and drinks via an app. Additionally, thanks to geolocation, servers can find you anywhere on board. This attention to detail adds a modern and personalized touch that makes the cruise even more enjoyable.
Regarding entertainment, while the shows may lack a bit of grandeur compared to other cruise lines, they are still enjoyable to watch. Onboard activities such as trivia, music games, and cocktail competitions with the officers create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The New Year’s Eve celebration, though elegantly organized, ended a bit early—likely a choice that aligns with the preferences of a clientele seeking a calm and restful ambiance.

The Princess Plus package proved to be a fantastic addition to the trip. It includes premium beverages, two special desserts per day (almost impossible to fully take advantage of, given the generous portions!), and high-quality Wi-Fi. This package, combined with access to two casual restaurants, truly added an extra layer of luxury and comfort to the experience.
The food was one of the highlights of the cruise. Whether dining in the gourmet restaurants or at the Marketplace Buffet, every meal was a delight. I especially loved the option to enjoy burgers, pizza, and even popcorn in the evening, particularly during the outdoor movie screenings—a relaxing and fun experience. Additionally, the attentiveness of the staff, who offered guests coffee, orange juice, or water upon entering the buffet, further underscored the excellence of the service.
The drinks deserve a special mention: the variety and quality of the offerings were remarkable, with generous and flavorful cocktails, along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages often served in bottles or cans—a small luxury that makes a big difference. The 15-alcoholic-drink-per-day limit is more than reasonable and helps maintain a pleasant atmosphere for everyone on board.

In terms of activities, while the ship lacks an indoor pool, the numerous outdoor pools and jacuzzis more than make up for it. I also appreciated the golf, basketball, and padel areas. Additional entertainment like bingo and auctions added some fun to my days. In the evenings, the Silent Disco and live concerts, accompanied by a talented pianist, created an elegant and lively atmosphere that I absolutely loved.
The ports of call on this cruise were simply spectacular, and each left me with a unique and lasting memory. Cabo San Lucas immediately won me over with its classic Mexican beach town vibe. The beaches were stunning—perfect for relaxing or snorkeling. The downtown area was charming, with small boutiques and delicious street food vendors. Strolling through these vibrant streets was a pleasure, with local colors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Mazatlán allowed me to explore a larger and more diverse city. Since the port is located a bit far from the main attractions, we opted for a tour in an open-air taxi, which turned out to be a fantastic choice! For just $20 per person, we enjoyed a two-hour ride through different neighborhoods, stopping at breathtaking viewpoints. With the wind in my hair and the sun shining, it was both a relaxing and enriching experience.

Puerto Vallarta was a pleasant surprise. Like other beach destinations, a taxi is needed to reach the downtown area, but it’s well worth it. The picturesque streets are perfect for a leisurely walk, immersing yourself in the local atmosphere. With restaurants, shops, and bustling squares, I let myself be carried away by the city’s energy, appreciating its vibrant yet laid-back charm.
Each stop had its own unique charm, allowing me to alternate between paradisiacal beaches, cultural discoveries, and moments of pure relaxation in nature.
The experience with Princess Cruises was extremely enjoyable and pleasantly surprising—a perfect balance of luxury at a fair price, attentive service at every moment, and exceptionally comfortable bedding for a truly restful sleep. Without a doubt, this is an experience I would love to repeat!
