Carnival Celebration: final zone unveiled
Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled, via a virtual event, the final zone of the newest Excel-class ship, Carnival Celebration, which will arrive in Miami this November.
Carnival Cruise Line had already announced and unveiled details of Carnival Celebration‘s first five zones, namely Celebration Central, 820 Biscayne, Summer Landing, Lido and The Ultimate Playground, while the sixth and final zone unveiled today is The Gateway.
Spanning decks 6 and 7, The Gateway is a two-story Promenade that replaces the French Quarter featured on Mardi Gras, and as Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said, it features a new concept designed to celebrate what we all love: travel!
The Gateway will include, in addition to previously announced The Golden Jubilee: Latitudes, reminiscent of the bars found in train stations and airports around the world. Latitudes will have a mechanical screen, similar to classic train station billboards, that will display menus or messages for guests, and there will be cocktails from around the world in addition to Celebration Happy Hour every afternoon.
Also featured will be Emeril’s Bistro 1397, which will be slightly different from the one featured on Mardi Gras, with an expanded menu with new selections.
The Gateway will feature high-definition virtual windows and an LED ceiling, which will offer different shows throughout the day and night creating a multitude of themed scenes. The windows will be used in combination with lighting and sound to make the experience more immersive.
In addition, there will be a digital map showing the real-time locations of Carnival ships and several adjacent bars and restaurants.
