Explora I: bar, restaurant and lounge concepts unveiled
Explora Journeys has announced the culinary itinerary consisting of 18 different offerings that will accompany guests aboard EXPLORA I during its maiden voyage in May 2023.
EXPLORA I will offer a wide range of 11 dining experiences including six restaurants, as well as a room service option and 12 bars and lounges, including eight indoor and four outdoor, and a “chef’s kitchen” where guests can discover flavors from around the world inspired by the Ocean State of Mind philosophy.

Throughout the year, the wine selection will reflect the regions visited by the ship, offering some of the most sought-after varieties. In addition, an exclusive mixology menu has been created, including an exclusive Ocean State of Mind cocktail, made with gin from seaweed. Wine, whiskey and other spirits tastings will be held on board, as well as wine-themed experiences in the destinations visited.
Thibaut Briançon, Senior Lead, Food and Beverage Services at Explora Journeys, added, “A key element that sets Explora Journeys apart is the careful selection of an eclectic beverage mix, including both fine wines sourced directly from the vineyards and exclusive premium brands, to create a wide variety of cocktails, including non-alcoholic and organic options. In this way, our mixologists and sommeliers can provide unique experiences for our discerning travelers.”
From elegant interiors to poolside locations or the private terrace of a suite, each setting will be unique, designed to deliver unforgettable experiences.
The 12 bars & lounges include: the Astern Lounge, is the social hub of travel, with a range of events and rituals for all tastes; the Astern Pool & Bar, a poolside lounge open all day; the Malt Whiskey Bar, a fine excursion among global whiskey-producing regions, including the rarest. It also offers a humidor, a cigar expert and a dedicated terrace; the Crema Café, a lively European-style bar open all day. Coffee is selected by connoisseurs who have traveled the world exploring the origin, character, and strength of Fair Trade coffee, as well as the Lobby Bar, the Explora Lounge, the Journeys Lounge, the Gelateria & Creperie at The Conservatory, the Sky bar on 14, the Atoll Pool & Bar, the Helios Pool & Bar, and The Conservatory Pool & Bar.
For diverse dining experiences that celebrate global culinary talents, origin, and ingredients selected by local partners, there is an offering of 6 restaurants such as:
Anthology, which serves as a culinary stage for guest chefs who bring to life menus celebrating the cuisines of the world, reflecting travel and its destinations, with unique wine pairings in a setting of refined contemporary elegance. Sakura, an authentic and immersive dining experience in the finest Pan-Asian cuisine-Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Malaysian. Marble & Co. Grill, a reimagining of a European steakhouse, featuring exceptional cuts personally selected from sustainable farms.
Med Yacht Club, influenced by the elegant seaside restaurants of the Mediterranean, offers the region’s varied cuisine, with flavor infusions from Italy, Spain, Greece and France. The wine list reflects the abundance of Mediterranean vineyards, while juices and cocktails pay homage to regional ingredients. Emporium Marketplace, an all-day casual dining restaurant that showcases the world’s talents and products. Illuminated by natural light, 18 different kitchen stations follow one another throughout the day to represent every corner of the globe.
Finally, Fil Rouge, a restaurant with an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere where you can enjoy international cuisine inspired by France.
