After unveiling the fascinating destinations, wellness experiences, and choice of culinary alternatives that will await guests aboard its ships, Explora Journeys now announces its entertainment and personal growth program, consisting of various activities, events, experiences, and rituals that guests can enjoy on board to stimulate the mind and nourish the soul.

Explora Journeys has invested in creativity and thoughtful programming that covers every aspect of life on board. The program will continually evolve over the course of the trip, adapting from time to time to the destinations visited.

There will be seven venues on board where different forms of entertainment will alternate. Guests at any time of the trip, with no time limitation, will be able to immerse themselves in the experience. There will be artists, guests and experts from different fields; state-of-the-art audio, lighting and displays; lounges and venues can accommodate a wide selection of original experiences.

Especially important is the role of music: one can relax before and after dinner poolside in the Astern Lounge to the notes of a soothing soundtrack or listen to contemporary pop inspired by Scott Bradley’s Postmodern Jukebox in the Explora Lounge. Instead, the Journeys Lounge is the right choice if you prefer a candlelit evening with background music reflecting your travel itinerary. And at the Lobby Bar there is always music to accompany a coffee or an aperitif.

The performances, of different genres and styles, will feature amazing international musicians and artists, along with the presence of guest performers who will amaze and delight all audiences.

Among the activities you will be able to participate in on board, here are three examples:

Ombré Sunsets: at the Explora Lounge, guests can improve their photography skills by learning how to capture sunsets, take the perfect selfie for Instagram, or how to light a photo in just the right way to capture its best aspects.

The Spirit of Whiskey: in the Malt Whiskey Bar, you can participate in a fun tutorial given by experienced mixologists creating original drinks.

Melodic Master Class: a masterclass in which resident artists will meet with guests, sharing their talents and talking about improvisation and musical composition.

The events, designed specifically for each voyage, offer guests the opportunity to interact with the crew.

Captain’s Log…Secrets of the Sail: guests will join the captain or officers in discovering how ancient methods of navigation have been replaced by today’s science fiction technology and getting to know those who will guide them throughout the itinerary of the voyage.

Bal Mythos: at the stroke of midnight, guests can don handcrafted masks representing local deities and dance accompanied by the Bacchus Band and its vocalists.

Midnight Wayfinder: accompanied by the dreamy sound of guitar and stories to be heard under the stars or gathered around the Conservatory Pool, guests will discover how navigators have long relied on sea, wind and stars to arrive safely at their destination.

Inferno: With an irresistible nod to the glamor of New York’s Studio 54, Soul Train and the disco music of the 1970s in Europe, guests can sip vintage cocktails and dance the night away.

A key aspect of Explora Journeys are the practices and rituals (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly) that mark every aspect of the voyage, from sunrise to sunset. They take place at the same time, same day and same place on all of the brand’s ships.

Ocean State of Mind: simple daily guided meditations against the backdrop of the sky and ocean will greet each morning, interweaving local cultural practices with positive stories about the day’s destination.

Sundial Salutation: a movement-based wellness ritual that is repeated twice a day, infusing vigor at the start of the day and serenity at sunset.

Midday Melodies: every day, at the exact moment when morning turns into afternoon, the Atrium of Explora I will come alive with acoustic music.

Sunset Aperitif: aperitifs and appetizers, original and associated with the different ports of call on the itinerary, will be served at bars and lounges, each accompanied by unique background music.

Moonrise: Every 28 days, cloaked in silver and ivory, guests gather for an evening of pure magic in the presence of the full moon, sipping original cocktails and dancing under the stars to music played live.

As for personal growth Explora Journeys has thought of this as well: there will be lectures, courses, and informal conversations that will offer guests stimulating opportunities for personal growth thanks to the experts invited on board.

The Book Club: on some trips a particular book concerning the region visited will be discussed, including a reading by the author.

Single Origin: guided by a world-class barista, guests will discover different local coffee cultures through tastings related to the countries visited.

Artisanal: courses in art forms pertaining to the destinations visited and representative of the local culture, from textiles and tapestries to the art of basket weaving and chocolate making, all led by local experts.

Dance the Day Away: during some trips, guests will experience an incredible afternoon exploring local movement culture, accompanied by local music, with an LED backdrop that will evoke the geographical context. Sessions will be led by local experts, resident artists and international guests.

The Creative’s Journey: during presentations by resident and guest artists, accompanied by other performers and experts, you will discover writers, iconic moments, and behind-the-scenes insight into the world of film and theater. Presenters will include writers, directors, producers, actors, musicians, choreographers, costume designers, lighting designers and set designers.

Finally, Club Soda will entertain guests who have adopted an alcohol-free lifestyle, events held at the Prism will celebrate the diversity of Explora Journeys guests, and the Solivagant Society will bring together those traveling alone for a variety of activities, events, and experiences throughout the trip.
