Norwegian Encore: An Enhanced Travel Experience
Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Cruise Line’s innovative ship in the global cruise segment, will offer guests an elevated travel experience starting December 2024. This upgrade will feature the introduction of a brand-new Spice H2O lounge, the expansion of two popular restaurants—Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki—redesigned suites in The Haven by Norwegian, and 24 new balcony cabins.
The ship will undergo a two-week dry dock from November 18, 2024, to December 2, 2024, after which guests will have the opportunity to enjoy these new enhancements. The Spice H2O, a complimentary outdoor lounge for adults only, will replace the laser tag arena and will feature a new design and layout created by NCL’s long-time partners, Studio Dado. Spice H2O will become the perfect outdoor oasis for adults seeking a relaxing retreat, featuring several hot tubs, eight large sunbeds surrounded by pools, and a spacious bar serving a variety of delicious cocktails. It will combine the features of the Spice H2O from the Breakaway-Plus class with those of Infinity Beach from the latest Prima class ships.
Onboard Norwegian Encore, Cagney’s Steakhouse (recently awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2024 for its wine program) and Teppanyaki, two of the company’s most popular specialty restaurants, will be expanded to offer an enhanced dining experience. Teppanyaki, the hibachi-style restaurant, will increase its capacity by taking over the space previously occupied by Los Lobos on Deck 8 and Coco’s on Deck 6. Additionally, Ocean Blue will be converted into the guest-favorite restaurant, Palomar, offering refined Mediterranean seafood cuisine. These updates are in response to guest feedback and aim to provide more relaxation space, greater dining options, and an elevated experience.
Another notable enhancement involves the onboard accommodations, addressing the growing demand for three-bedroom suites seen on Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva, and Norwegian Joy. On Norwegian Encore, the Premier Owner’s Suites with large balconies will be expanded to feature three bedrooms instead of two. These suites will also include three and a half bathrooms, a fully renovated living area, a master bedroom, balcony furniture, and a new separate dining room. The Haven by Norwegian, the company’s exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept offering private keycard access and dedicated experiences including concierge service, a private pool area, restaurant, and bar, will debut with an additional 24 new balcony cabins and two balcony club cabins, repurposing part of the ship’s Observation Lounge.
With these exciting updates, Norwegian Encore will enhance and elevate the onboard experience, complementing the existing offerings such as the Encore Speedway, the adrenaline-pumping 300-meter-long racetrack, the Aqua Park with two multi-story waterslides, and the Galaxy Pavilion, NCL’s virtual reality complex.
