Explora Journeys

Explora Journeys is a luxury cruise line registered in Switzerland and headquartered in Geneva. It is part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC Group). Explora Journeys is designed for guests who want to enjoy every moment of their vacation and travel savoring every detail. The centrality of the customer is its goal. Explora Journeys' ships are equipped with the latest technology in the maritime industry to protect the environment and are also ready to adopt alternative energy sources (hybrid powertrain) when they become widely available in the near future. The project includes the installation of batteries to enable future hybrid power generation. The ships are built with ship-to-shore capability to avoid CO2 emissions while berthed and powered by marine diesel fuel, all four ships will be RINA DOLPHIN certified for underwater noise reduction. Single-use plastics will not be used aboard the ship, nor will they be offered during shore-based experiences.
Inspired by the mandala, the Explora Journeys logo was designed by Alexa Aponte-Vago, CFO of MSC Group, daughter of founder Gianluigi Aponte and wife of Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago. The model represents "a journey of discovery and personal fulfillment." The lotus flower illustrations symbolize purity of body, speech and mind, while the lily represents humility and a connection to European heritage. The font alludes to the curves of the sea.
