The story of the Holland America Line began a long time ago when it was founded in 1873 as the Nederlandsch Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatschappij and for many years it was a regular fleet for the Americas. But from 1895, it started to offer its first cruises, until it became a reference company in the Seventies, when it was sold to Carnival Corporation in 1989. Today Holland America Line is one of the companies that best combines the charm of sailing and old liners with the most modern cruising requirements. It has a large fleet that offers cruises on wonderful itineraries all over the world.
Holland America has elegant, classically styled ships with excellent dining and outstanding service. The latest units have added significant new touches, but without distorting the inimitable style of this company.
