Lars-Eric Lindblad was considered a pioneer in the expedition cruise field when he put the Lindblad Explorer into service, having built it expressly for this purpose in 1969. From 1979 on, his son Sven-Olof Lindblad managed Lindblad Expeditions, which began a partnership with National Geographic in 2004.
The Lindblad Expeditions continually expanding fleet of small expedition cruise ships travel to the most remote corners of the seven seas and the polar regions. Travel occurs in the company of docents and expert scientists. The futuristic twin ships, the National Geographic Endurance (2020) and the National Geographic Resolution (2021), have recently joined the previous ships, the National Geographic Quest (2017) and the National Geographic Venture (2018).
