Kapitan Dranitsyn is a Russian icebreaker ship designed to operate in the harsh conditions of the Arctic and the Baltic Sea. Built in March, 1980, at the Wartsila shipyards in Finland, it was upgraded in Norway in 1999. It is part of the Poseidon Expeditions fleet and used for on-demand charter cruises.
The Kapitan Dranitsyn offers comfortable accommodation for up to 100 passengers. The ship has a helicopter, expedition landing boats and a small fleet of Zodiacs. The interior of the icebreaker is a combination of simplicity and comfort. Onboard amenities include a restaurant, bar, conference room, library, gym, sauna, swimming pool and hospital. The restaurant offers open-seating dining, featuring contemporary international cuisine prepared by talented chefs.
