Le Bougainville: luxury and intimacy
Le Bougainville, a Ponant ship inaugurated in 2019, gives the feeling of navigating aboard a luxury yacht, immersed in comfort and surrounded by exceptional service.
Elegance and service are the key words of Le Bougainville, a ship in Ponant’s Explorer series, and named as well for a famous French navigator. Similar to its twins, Le Bougainville distinguishes itself for its interior design, always simple but elegant and luxurious, and for its high level of service made possible by the number of passengers on board.
Le Bougainville has five passenger decks. On these decks you can find the passenger accommodations that are all external and incredibly welcoming suites. The main entrance to the ship leads directly to deck 3 where you will find a beautiful Hall with the Reception, the Excursion Office, and a shop. On the day you board, you will be welcomed here by white-gloved butlers passing out flutes of champagne!
From here moving toward the stern you will reach the Main Lounge, which as the name indicates is the main lounge area onboard. Beautiful Nordic style seating is arranged in a large and bright environment. Here you can sip your favorite cocktail or listen to live piano music while enjoying your trip.
From the Main Lounge itself you can access the outdoor pool area. As you exit, you will find a bar on the left and a Grill on the right, offering the possibility to dine while enjoying fantastic sea views. The pool is not small for the number of passengers and it has a fantastic view over the stern. The sofas located at the two ends of the deck at the stern are beautiful, and when the ship is sailing fast give the sensation of being suspended over the sea. From the deck below you can access the Marina, a platform from where it is possible to dive into the sea or participate in various water sports.
Still on deck 3, but located at the bow, you will find the Theater. Here you can watch the Ponant evening shows, but also attend talks about the ports of call, find meet-ups for excursions, and other events.
At the front of the ship on deck 4 is the Restaurant, the main restaurant of the ship. Elegant table settings are the prelude to an exquisite menu with both French and international cuisine, but above all with ties to the local destinations visited.
Located on deck 5, besides cabins, is the command deck. On deck 6, in the center of the ship, is a beautiful Art Gallery dedicated mostly to the themes of sailing and navigation. Here it is also possible to browse through your photos and use the computers. At the bow, there is another marvelous local of Le Bougainville: the Panoramic Lounge. The lounge has great armchairs, books about beautiful locations, and a bar with a 270° view of the sea. You will never want to leave!
Deck 7 offers a delightful Spa with sea-view sauna, various treatment rooms, and a Turkish bath. Next door, the gym offers some equipment for staying in shape…while discovering beautiful corners of the world! A small Solarium can be found near the back of the ship, accessible from the Spa corridor. In the center of the ship there are Zodiac inflatable raft boats used to reach the coast during expeditions, an exclusive experience available on Ponant cruises!
Isn’t something missing ?! Something extraordinary? An underwater lounge … where you can watch and listen to the depths, while sitting comfortably and with your drink in hand: the Blue Eye Lounge!
Le Bougainville is a large yacht that provides an intimate and unique cruise experience with itineraries to some of the most beautiful places in the world. It is the umpteenth jewel-of-a-ship to join the Ponant fleet, synonymous with excellence and luxury cruises.
