Pegasos: Seychelles with the Variety Cruises yacht

Pegasos is a 45-metre long mega yacht with a double bulbous bow operating for Variety Cruises on itineraries to the Seychelles archipelago.

Launched in 1990, Pegasos has recently undergone major renovations and improvements to the hull and passenger areas. It has 21 cabins of 4 different categories, all of which are outside and can accommodate up to 44 people. They are equipped with a bathroom fitted with a shower, a minibar, a safe, a TV, adjustable air conditioning, and very spacious.

All the common areas on board Variety Cruises‘ mega yacht are furnished in a simple and comfortable style inspired by local culture and traditions. A small reception desk is available for guests aft of the Main Deck Riviera, which is always staffed by extremely friendly and courteous personnel.

Life on board takes place mainly on the Upper Deck Infinity: this is where the Dining Room is located, with comfortable seating in a very bright and welcoming environment. This is where all the meals are served, from breakfast to dinner, except on evenings when you can eat outside on the aft deck. Part of the meals are served buffet style, while appetisers, soups and other specialities such as fresh fish or desserts are served at the table.

In the centre of the large saloon that continues to the Lounge is the small but well-stocked bar, always available to serve you your favourite cocktail, a cool drink or an aperitif. Everything is also served outside by ubiquitous and friendly waiters.

The Lounge occupies the aft part of the Upper Deck, with a series of lounges leading out to the outdoor terrace, decorated with paintings, local objects and pastel colours. A small library and some board games are available to guests, as well as an always-open self-service station for coffee and other hot drinks, complemented by pastries.

The Infinity deck is closed by the large covered outdoor terrace on the stern: this is where you can sip a good wine while admiring the wonderful landscape of the archipelago, or dine with friends for a Creole evening full of dancing and singing. But you can also read or rest during the few hours of navigation, which is also part of a wonderful cruising experience.

Just below the aft deck is the marina, a platform that provides direct access to the sea for snorkelling, surfing or simply swimming from the ship. From here you can also set off on Zodiacs to reach beaches and other wonders on the itinerary.

The Sun Deck 360° is the highest deck of the ship, as the name suggests, and is dedicated to sun loungers in the aft part but also to pleasant sofas and armchairs in the central part, which is sheltered from the sun and has a second small, charming wooden bar. In the bow section, you can stroll around the cockpit, linger on the bridge where guests are always welcome by the captain, or linger on the beautiful sofas overlooking the manoeuvres in the bow.

Pegasos also has a small spa, mainly dedicated to massages, manicures and pedicures, which is located on the Lower Deck Oceans. It offers a relaxing service after intense days of sunbathing and swimming.

The style on board is very informal, and the size of the mega yacht means that an atmosphere of cordiality and friendship is instantly created on board, both with the crew and with the other guests. The cuisine offers international dishes, excellent fresh fish as well as traditional local recipes.

M/Y Pegasos offers five- and eight-day cruises around the beautiful Seychelles, with every option departing from Mahe and Praslin. Both cruises are visiting the former leper colony of Curieuse, now uninhabited by humans and home to many giant tortoises, the island of Cousin, known for its bird life, and the island of St. Pierre.

Swimming, snorkelling, guided walks and an outdoor barbecue are among the activities you can enjoy. The shorter cruise ends in Praslin, while the longer trip returns to Mahe via Felicite, the charming La Digue and the island of Moyenne.
